Fear of death never stopped Aaron from doing something dangerous. Now actual death can't either.

Aaron was always a bit of a daredevil. Motorcycles, cave diving, bungee jumping, sky diving... You name it, and if it was dangerous, Aaron was there. Then, his entire universe got pulled into a System-managed multiverse.

He was skydiving at the time he was pulled into the Tutorial, so instead of getting a peaceful introduction to the System, he went splat and instantly died. Taking pity on him, the goddess in charge of his Tutorial resurrected him, but due to System restrictions, there was only one place she could send him: The Shadow Trials.

Now, stuck in a special dimension designed for the prodigies of each new universe, Aaron has to find a way to survive and grow stronger while starting from level 1. His only saving grace is that in the Shadow Trials, he revives every time he dies. And he's going to abuse that as much as he can to grow strong.

So far the story is good while not standing out. The only big flaw is that the MC is the only one who died from extreme activities. Overall the story held back by unnecessary skill limits and lack of other characters during most of the book, mostly the second.

Good

Good litrpg setup and action looking forward to the next one but it has somewhat of a weak or more nebulous plot but I think the rest of the story holds up well and just to nitpick SPOILERS I hate the way the book starts off is he the only person in the world doing something dumb at high speed and why does the MC have no reaction to a alien having some of the same recreation activities we do again nitpicking

Pretty Good

I’ll listen to book two because the overall story is good and incoming characters make me curious. The MC had some moments of intense stupidity but it’s not overwhelming. For the most part he’s fairly smart about the way he does things.
Narration has some Aussie surfer vide moments that threw me off but again not enough to take away from listening.

Fun and

This book is simply a magic system description from beginning to end. I’m not willing to find out if book 2 contains a plot.

Very little plot

I don't know how this got compared to the primal hunter. Or anything else really? That was worth reading, because this book is basically 10 hours of this guy who, by absolutely no action of his own gets screwed over and then force into a situation that we have to very painfully. And slowly and excruciating detail have to watch go through these utterly ridiculous trials in order for him just to be like everyone else...

You're gonna have people tell you that it makes him different. That it makes him mentally stronger. Blah, blah, blah, etc. Etc. Etc but here's the, deal... In good stories, what you do ISIS you introduce the character to other characters? Because did I felt to mention? He's the only character in the book. Unless you count npcs that have one-liner's and are a part of the system itself as in like an automated assistant type thing. so that's right, ladies and gentlemen. It's a one man show kind of like castaway, but without the great acting.

I will give the writer this. He does know how to create a character that has an infinite amount of positivity that in itself carried me through the first 12 chapters. But after that, when you start to realize the horror of what the writer is going to make you go through just to be able to have a normal book, I mean, we don't even have interaction with other characters that are just going through the same thing. That he is. So it's not like we get to see what other people's stories are like or other interactions with basic characters. No, no, unfortunately, we just have to deal with the bullshit that the writer makes us see what the one character. and again he's not special...

I mean, I guess you could say. There's no woke nonsense, which is great... that was a pretty cool thing. He is Australian and I can't remember him making any jabs in America like every other foreign writer. Seems to love doing in their books which is incredibly cliche. Considering all of the things that we know now, but Alas, this is another failed experiment. I'm recommending you skip this one. Hopefully he does better in his next book.

You know that last bit of beer at the bottom of the glass...
