The narration was perfection!

This is book 1 in the Mercenary Socialites Series.

****Audiobook Review****
Narrators: Troy Duran and Angelina Rocco

This story follows Sophia whois a Princess by day and a Mercenary by night. She uses her status to help people who wouldn't be able to help themselves. Sophia is in love with Victor, a man she met while in school. He is the brother of an acquaintance and much older than her... their relationship is forbidden and their affair is kept in the dark with secret meetings and rendezvous. Sophia needs to figure out if her love for Victor will be worth losing everything or will she give up her dreams to appease her mother and the job she loves so much?

First let me start out by saying that the dual narration by both Troy and Angelina was top notch. The deep tone of Troy's voice was perfect for this story and Angelina is so talented and the perfect voice of a Princess. Their performance together is so raw and genuine. I could listen to them recite the telephone book and enjoy the way numbers are spoken...LOL. These 2 narrators are some of the best in the business and any book they perform on will be one that I enjoy.

The books story was one That i enjoyed and the idea of a princess being a mercenary was so fun to read. Loved how the main purpose was to help people that could not help themselves and were in very difficult situations. The side characters were amazing and I look forward to more of their stories and whey they do what they do. There were portions of the book that I had a difficult time following the story due to the 3rd person narration. At times, it was difficult to figure out who was talking and the pacing seemed a bit off. Having said that, I did enjoy the storyline and the concept of the book. if you love mafia and mercenaries, this book is for you. I give this one 3.5 stars but have rounded up.

Excellent Story, Characters & Narration🎧

This is an excellent start to an exciting series, the “Mercenary Socialites” series, and it is not your average or even ordinary princess or mercenary story, it is so much more. The story is original with interesting storylines that captivate your attention from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, as well as easy to care about. Princess Sophia attended a private boarding school where she and her friends witness a murder, a murder that was covered up and years later she and her friends are on a mission to seek justice for that murder and for more evils committed by the one responsible. She is part of a secretive mercenary group who has the means to get the information and tools she needs to complete the mission. While on this mission she sees Viktor, the man who she has fantasized about since he first met him, but she cannot risk getting involved with him at the moment. That does not stop him from pursuing her or his curiosity to see what she is up to, because he knows she is hiding something. This is a fast-paced story and there is never a dull moment, besides the danger of the mission she is on, Sophia is dealing with her brother, a royal PITA who is looking to arrange a marriage for her and her unloving mother. Viktor and Sophia's chemistry is undeniable, and their secret trysts are smoking hot. When he discovers what she is up to and what her brother has planned, he puts his own plan into motion. Sophia can handle herself and she is no damsel in distress. She thinks on her feet and finds her own exit plan. This contemporary romantic suspense is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Setta Jay, thank you for the fascinating story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Angelina Rocca and Troy Duran were the perfect cast to bring the characters and story to life. They understood the characters they portrayed, giving each a voice that was fitting, and they were believable in every role they played. Rocca was fabulous as Sophia, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her fierceness to her determination. Duran’s Viktor was spot on, playing the swoon worthy alpha with perfection, accent and all. Both were fantastic in covering the secondary characters’ roles too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and enjoyable to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Spicy & Thrilling Age-Gap Romance!

Mercenary Princess is my second book by Setta Jay and I am hooked. Setta Jay is a queen of alluring worldbuilding; whether you’re reading her paranormal erotica or contemporary romance, she’ll draw you in with mesmerizing characters, vivid imagery, and gripping storytelling. Check your trigger warnings, as this book does mention some dark content. If you love a spy novel with a spicy twist, you’ll want to grab Mercenary Princess.

Angelina Rocca is a newer to me narrator and I have loved each of her performances! She embodied the brilliant, calculating, highly cautious, fierce AF Sophia beautifully. I’ve listened to a lot of Troy’s military/protector romance recently, but his performance of Viktor was a new level of suave & growly hero. He portrayed Viktor’s possessive “mine” moments in that accent so smoothly, that I may have lost track of my day a few times. Angelina and Troy were perfectly cast and paired to portray Sophia and Viktor and bring this story to life. I can’t wait to listen to more of this series and see where Setta Jay takes us next!

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 For fans of darker romance with bada$$ but lovable MCs (authors like Ana Huang and Sophie Lark).
🤩 modern Regency London feels—finding a suitor.
🤩 Angelina Rocca’s voice is calm and airy, hiding all the feelings just like princess Sophia of Porenza has been trained her whole life. Except arousal, of course.
🤩 Troy Duran’s voice is deep, rumbling with good vibrations, and totally in charge. But with a hint of a sneaky smile Viktor saves for Sophia.
🤩 You should follow Troy on TikTok—he is so entertaining.
🤩 You really should listen to this audiobook just to hear Troy say goooood and good girl.
🤩 Both narrators are fabulously cast and sensually inviting.
🤩 High tech security and mercenary operations—such a great and good suspense plot.
🤩 Built-up sexual tension from years of secret obsession.
🤩 Illustrated, intense, intimate, and very thorough steamy scenes. 🥵❤️‍🔥
🤩 Champagne and foot massage anybody? Yes, please! 🥂 🦶

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 These two hotties are so fabulous but just not quite themselves with no steam after the drama/time apart. The club would have been PERFECT. And while working, yes please! Such a greedy girl, yeah, I know.

Narrators we’re amazing

Sophia is leading a double life. Princess is what people see but Mercenary is what she really is after experiencing a traumatic event that left them feeling helpless and out of control. From that point on they banded together to create a group that could bring down the powerful men that the law couldn't with the knowledge Sophia and her Socialite friends have gained throughout there years, it's their mission to bring down those in power who abuse their positions. From a very young age, they have known the hard and brutal way power can give you control. They have seen murder swept under the carpet, the abused being paid off, and greed leading to taking what you want no matter what.
Viktor is bossy, arrogant and he know how to deal with people who threaten those he loves. Viktor's power is not from abusing those around him, his power is in knowing the secrets of people in power. And now, it's time to find out what his Princess is hiding. He want her as much as she want him.
I love everything about the book and listening is a total experience

Great Read

I was intrigued by this book when I seen it was narrated by Troy. I am so happy I decide to take a chance on it. Along with the story line the narration was amazing. It is a different spin on a princess story. It is full of suspense, drama and action that kept me not wanting to stop till it was done. The chemistry between the MC's was perfect. Really enjoyed it.

Sophia and Victor

I loved the narration by Troy and Angelina, it really brought a special touch to this story. The only thing that was hard to get over for me was that it was written in 3rd person perspective. So instead of getting sucked into the story and feeling involved, I felt like I was being read to instead. So if you don’t like 3rd person perspective this one may not be for you. Overall good story with great narration.

Stand alone story, 4.5 stars

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Troy Duran and new-to-me Angelina Rocca. I liked both the narrators and would listen to both again. Mercenary Princess was preformed in duet narration where the same narrator voices all the dialogue for the same characters throughout the book regardless of point of view (dual narration changes narrators only with changes in point of view). I would have preferred more dialogue to fit the duet format, but I also know that duet narration is also really popular so it's probably just personal preference.

This was my first book by Setta Jay. It's a stand alone story, but I'm interested in listening to more of the series. I thought the story was interesting and liked that Sophia stood up for what she believed in.

I received a copy of the audiobook at my request, and the opinions here are my own.

Thrilling, steamy and action packed!

The title and cover drew me in and what a ride this story was. “Mercenary Princes” is a thrilling, steamy and action packed romantic suspense that I couldn’t stop listening to.

After experiencing a horrific crime, Princess Sophia is determined to never feel helpless again. She forms a mercenary with her friends who aren’t afraid to go after the men that law enforcement won’t go after. Viktor has had a tough past which has made him stronger and someone to be feared. Sophia has always had her eye on Vickor but he doesn’t exactly fit in with her royal status. For years Viktor has been trying to resist her but he can’t anymore. They share one night together but that’s not enough for Viktor.

From the very beginning, I was invested in Sophia and Viktor. Their chemistry was undeniable and just coming off the pages. I love the back and forth between the two at first and how they finally gave into their desires. Their steamy scenes were so good. Sophia is a certified baddie with her girls and isn’t afraid to stop the bad guys. Viktor is sinfully delicious and I loved watching his story unfold. Sophia and Viktor are great characters and I loved listening to it. I hope we get more from this series soon, it’s a great world Setta Jay has created.

Angelica Rocca and Tony Duran were so great as Sophia and Viktor. I loved listening to them bring this story alive and I’m so glad it was narrated in duet. That made it even more enjoyable.

Wonderful audio!

Angelica Rocca is one of my favorite narrators, so if she’s in it, I’m gonna listen. And as usual, she didn’t disappoint, especially when paired with the fantastic Troy Duran. I loved this duet! Such a wonderful performance. It definitely helped me keep up with the third person POV, as that is typically pretty difficult for me to read. Otherwise, Victor and Sophia had the best chemistry and were absolutely explosive together. The suspense kept me on edge, and I loved the ending. Such a great audio!
