Publisher's summary

Equine veterinary technician Walter Watson was working in a prestigious practice in Colts Neck, New Jersey when he makes a terrible discovery. His boss, famed equine surgeon Dr. John Hansen, is involved with a group of men committing a multimillion-dollar fraud killing racehorses in order to collect insurance money. Just before Walter can expose the scam, he is murdered. However, he is reincarnated as a thoroughbred racehorse colt.

A memory thrashes its way to the surface, torturing him, refusing to let him rest—the knowledge that he once was a man. He knows he must expose the crimes that haunt him as he enters training and racing in pursuit of men’s fortunes. He will not be alone in his quest. Merlin, a black barn cat who was once a homicide detective, will see to that. He is also assisted by famous animal psychic Sally Andrews and her private investigator friend Chris Mackenzie.

Spectacularly Different!

If you’re looking for a different kind of “who done it”, one that will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you THINK “Flashback, Life After Murder” is IT! Stunning in it’s attention to detail, this story not only held my attention, it made me THINK! I was in AWE! No spoilers! Listen and see if YOU don’t start looking at things around you in a whole new light! The plot kept me on the edge of my proverbial seat with more than one, “oh, no, no no NO” moment! Speaking of no’s, no spoilers! I’m not about to give up the goods and ruin ANYTHING about this one! I will tell you that “Flashback” is stuffed to the gills with brilliantly created characters that span the full spectrums of good vs evil and likable vs non, ALL having their own unique strengths, weaknesses and personalities! The dialogue they speak is engaging, entertaining and paints a vibrant picture that emotionally moves the story forward perfectly! I’ll also tell you that brilliantly presented scene setting perfectly provides any additional information the you’ll need to throughly understand the highly competitive world of this uniquely different story! The last thing I need to touch on is a the narration. One word. WOW! These beautiful characters came emotionally alive, became real, and the story happened! It was perfect! Five star perfect, all categories, and I loved it!

Phenomenal!°

I loved the reincarnation aspect , and was immediately pulled in and hung on every word. It was so good that I listened twice. It was very suspenseful, and I liked the resolution at the end. I would definitely listen to more by this narrator. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did an exceptional job bringing it to life.

Death is not the end?

A young man was murdered and he thought it was the end, but he was wrong and was reborn as horse and was able to avenge himself by catching his murder. It was a really good book.

Excellent

This was a great story, so different from anything I have read before. Reincarnation, horses, and horse racing, a rather timid horse and a smart-ass cat. Narrator does a good job with the various characters voices, my only problem with the narration is that at first, the cat seemed to speak with a Scottish brogue, then later on with a Eastern Indian accent.

pretty good

Overall, it was a good book. I really enjoyed the racing aspect of the book. To me, it felt like the story was more about life as a race horse than how to prove murder. Though I could have lived without the horse erection talk.

The narration kept me pulled in, and he was able to keep the character voices all through the book. Which amazed me, something I know I could never do.

Took me a minute!💜

Probably before I finished the first couple of chapters I was ready to give up and not finish. But it takes a lot for me not to finish an audiobook, so I forged on.
It was a little too weird for me in the beginning but then it began to pick up. I found it quite intriguing listening to this story from a horse’s POV. There are so many things I never considered from the animals pov and it fascinated me. Also the fact he still had his human memories and emotions really added to both the weirdness and the intrigue.
So I guess by now you know I’m on the fence about this one.
The narration was just okay for me. He wasn’t terrible but for me, he didn’t particularly stick out.
This book is a standalone.
