Bradford M. Smith
Bradford Smith is a studio jeweler, internationally known author, lapidary, and jewelry instructor based in Santa Monica, California. Following a career in industrial automation, robotics and CAD, he earned his California teaching credential and has taught jewelry fabrication to hundreds of students.
A long-time member and officer of the Culver City Rock Club and the Metal Arts Society of Southern California, he enjoys photography, rockhounding, knifemaking and scuba diving.
Smith's Step-by-Step article on broom casting was published in the inaugural issue of Interweave's "Jewelry Artist" magazine. He writes a jewelry notes column to over 200 monthly newsletters in six countries and has published several books on jewelry making techniques plus a light-hearted memoir about how as a city boy he got married and moved to a farm where dealing with his new wife's crazy rescue animals almost did him in.
