Publisher's summary

War continues throughout the galaxy as Vrokan forces overrun the Hellenika System. Only the ships of Battle Fleet Warspite can hold them back.

World after world falls, until only the barren and lifeless planet of Kretos remains, a planet of little strategic importance. A world of small cities, mountains, sharp rocks, bitter storms and a civilian population unprepared for war. Without warning, the first wave of tiny spacecraft force their way through the blockade and fill the sky with landing pods and gliders. Waiting inside are thousands of terror troops, the Vrokan’s elite and most feared warriors.

The Commonwealth throws every ship they can find to slow enemy reinforcements, spearheaded by venerable Commonwealth Battleships Warspite and Valiant. But even that is not enough as more drop troopers force their way to the surface. The fighting becomes more desperate as the motely force of soldiers, academy students, and civilians on one side fight back against the black clad terror troopers of the Vrokan Empire on the other. All while a bitter fight rages through space as ships are torn apart in the struggle for supremacy.

The Void Wars is a brand-new military sci-fi series by acclaimed science fiction author Michael G. Thomas. For the first time, experience the epic battles and heroes of World War II set in a fictional futuristic universe, where fleets of kilometer long starships fight to the death, and entire worlds are consumed in the flames of war.

Michel g. Thomas is now one of my fav authors

I said it before and now again. I like this author because it has sound effects. The readers accent also put a different twang on it.

space opera with WWIl as framework

greatly enjoying the series. as the author proceeds through the great and little confrontations of world war ii, he uses British ships of the lines as linkages back to that time when the British navy was all that stood between a Nazi invasion and the British homeland

I also enjoy the use of the tone and accents of the British war films and trailers. great touch

Gripping Science Fiction War Story

I enjoyed book two of "The Void Wars" series as much as the first one. Michael G Thomas' writing was so creative that it sparked my imagination to the point that it almost seemed as if I was watching a film. His descriptive phrases painted actual pictures within my mind's eye. Just as with the first one, as soon as I started the audiobook, I had to listen until the end. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Nigel Peever's narration was awesome, and his performance, along with the sound effects, enhanced the story's impact. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Great book

Excellent book that does a great job putting a futuristic space warfare spin on the historical events of World War 2. The sound effects of the enhanced audio book are a little over the top at times but definitely not enough to bring down the quality of the book. I look forward to continuing this series.

Space Opera for today, about yesterday's future

Hands down the Narrator's voice had me riveted to the story. it wasn't hurried as in other books I'd experienced. Not this Trilogy if your asking, Thas being said this is the second in the trilogy I've listened to. It has elements of naval warfare fought in space and the Vrokken enemy reminds me of Nazi soldiers or something like. So I personally liked it and am now getting off this review to listen to the third book. Enjoy 🙂
