Great audio

What a story. This will break your heart and at times is really uncomfortable to listen to due to the story content but is a great audio and I fell totally in love with the two damage lead characters and my heart just broke for both of them. This is a beautiful audio which even though it has a dark subject matter also has a lot of hope.

Riveting psychological thriller!

Bright Lies is a dark and intense story about an abused teenage girl that runs away from her twisted stepdad David. Emily is rescued from the streets by Jack who’s a former bad boy with a promising future. He doesn’t know that she’s entangled in a web of lies and secrets. This book deals with sensitive topics that are disturbing but is very well written with lots of suspense.

Trigger warning: Grooming and psychological manipulation

I love psychological thrillers but have never come across a story like this. An excellent study in grooming. Unfortunately a very real scenario that could be considered a case study.
Although the ending is a bit outlandish, it's forgiven because of the great writing.
Emily has a very authentic perspective as a young teenager leading me to believe the author has had some experience in this situation.
Good read! Would recommend!
