Publisher's summary
A cosy and heartwarming seasonal romance, perfect for fans of Trisha Ashley.
Beth is running away. With her young son, Leo, to protect, Willow Cottage is the lifeline she so desperately needs. Overlooking the village green in a beautiful Cotswolds idyll, Beth sees a warm, caring and safe place for little Leo.
When she finally uncovers the cottage from underneath the boughs of a weeping willow tree, Beth realises this is far more of a project than she bargained for, and the locals are more than a little eccentric! A chance encounter with gruff Jack, who appears to be the only male in the village under 30, leaves the two of them at odds, but it's not long before Beth realises that Jack has hidden talents that could help her repair more than just Willow Cottage.
Over the course of four seasons, Beth realises that broken hearts can be mended, and sometimes love can be right under your nose....

good but misleading description - features abuse
I enjoyed the writing and tone of the audio book and the lighter moments as I expected I would. The writer writes a good suspenseful story and weaves in several story lines successfully. Additionally, the reader deftly deals with varied voices giving each their own personality. However, potential readers should know that the main character is running away from an abusive boyfriend. Readers should have enough information to make a wise choice for themselves. I didn't have this information and purchased the book and expected it to be like the Audible description. So had some troubling anxiety building up as the story progresses and the abuse hovered over the main charcters ominously. Ironically, while the author doesnt really seriously treat the subject of abuse, the fact that the tone and charcters actions make it seem light and not serious, this underlines the terrifying normality of this kind of abuse. Perhaps the author did this on purpose? To note, the heroine is living in denial all the while the suspense of the abusive boyfriend finding the heroine hangs over the entire second half of the book. If the description had mentioned any of this, I would never have purchased it. I can recommend the writing, characters and humor, but only if readers are informed and are okay with insertimg such a serious topic into an otherwise light and humour filled story.

I absolutely loved this audiobook! It had a real chick-flick style storyline and made you feel all emotions. The narrator read really well and bought the characters to life. It was also quite a long book which made a nice difference.

A nice easy listen, very well narrated
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It isn’t challenging in any way, but it is just a nice story, chick lit but not too much, and beautifully read. The ending is predictable but satisfying, and left me a bit sad that it had finished. Just right for when you don’t want to work hard, but just relax with a good yarn. I would buy another book by this author.
