Publisher's summary

I’m one of four Willow daughters.

He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history.

For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore.

But when you have as much money as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them.

And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules.

The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even though my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me.

He made me his.

And then he set out to break me.

This set contains Taken, Torn, and Twisted, the complete Dark Legacy Trilogy.

Narrator

I loved the story but the male narrator ruined it. I’d rather just buy the kindle version and read it myself.

Dark and Twisted. Sexy. Male voice is annoying.

This story was dark, twisted, but also sexy… if you like that kind of thing. It gets into some violent scenes. The only thing I didn’t like about this trilogy was the male narrators voice, Michael Pierce…
he sounds congested like he has a cold. Not sexy at all. He also gets really intense and fast and dramatic and the sound quality of his narration isn’t the best. Made it hard to hang on and keep listening. I can understand what he was trying to do, it just wasn’t executed well.
The female did a great job.
Honestly I probably would have purchased the books individually just to hear them without this guy. The individual books have a different narrator.

Loved the story line.
One of the better dark romance novels I’ve listened to. The author knows what she’s doing.

I love this trilogy. Very hot and sexy. Could have done with another narrator.

I absolutely loved loved this trilogy however Michael Pierce I cannot stand his voice I so wish there was another male voice that she would’ve used to narrate the story. I couldn’t stop listening from one book to the other I love the storyline and you never knew what was gonna happen next which kept the books very exciting. However if you have issues with multiple partners rough sex these books will not be for you. But the love story itself is so strong and I felt every word and plot to the story everything.

Dark and Twisty!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌏
Character development: 😳🤬😏🤓

The heroine: Helena Willow - a longstanding tradition and agreement between the Willow family and the Scafoni family takes place on her twenty first birthday. She is one of the Willow girls and one every generation is chosen by the eldest Scafoni heir. The chosen one is slave to the the Scafoni heir and his brothers. A slave for three years (one for each of the brothers).

The Hero(s): Sebastian Scafoni - He is the oldest of three brothers and he chooses Helena from the block. He has inherited a dark family tradition. His family has foregone the choosing of a Willow girl in the past, only to find out that they are cursed and sons of the family have died because of it.

The Story: Though Sebastian thinks that the tradition is a barbaric one, he can’t deny that he is glad that Helena is his. He chose the most willful and challenging of the four girls and revels in his ownership of her. He is a dark character, but definitely not the darkest in the Scafoni family.

The story is dark and twisty and so very steamy. The history of the two families is quite interesting and I like the fact that Helena’s aunt whom she loves was the last Willow girl and she is who gives Helena so much strength to go on and to stand up for herself.

I wasn’t too happy with the narration on the first two books. The male narrator, Michael Pauley didn’t have a deep enough voice and it sometimes sounded like he had a bad cold. I like a Hero with a very deep voice. The female narrator, Mackenzie Cartwright was fine but nothing to write home about.

There are mysteries in the past which bleed into the present and Helena has dreams that seem to be windows into the past where she finds more about the history and rules about the Willow girl and Scafoni men.

I listened to the entire trilogy in one audiobook. Book 1 was mainly about Helena and Sebastian. Book 2 Torn was about them as well but also about Sebastian’s brother Gregory Scafoni who was next in line to have the Willow girl for a year after Sebastian. Then the third book Twisted was about Gregory and Helena’s sister Amelia.

I liked Gregory, though his mind was a bit of a scary place and the narration on that one was even scarier. Michal Pauley sounded absolutely crazy at times when Gregory’s mind was spinning out. Though it was certainly exciting.

DARK and intense.

***Very questionable consent issues in this book. If you cant handle a lack of consent (or male characters using female body reactions to override verbal lack of consent) then AVOID this book. There are "reasons" why everyone did what they did, even the abusers, but there is still abuse. ***

I want to point out issues with the story setup, but would prefer to exclude spoilers this time. Essentially, be prepared for some storyline holes, weird justifications for abuse, and things that dont make sense to get to a TON of steam and spice and everything not nice. 5 stars on the HEAT (putting aside consent) for the creativity of the scenes alone. These books had me reaching for a bucket of ice on numerous occasions.

The male narrator has a VERY nasally voice that is very distracting. I love his inflection and pace, but he sounds congested. He does deliver the dark lines with intensity and I can understand why some people might not enjoy that, but I felt it was appropriate for such an angsty and intense story.

Interesting Story Line

Disappointed in the narrators at times. Male sounded ill at parts and took the more intense parts more to a loud announcer of a baseball game rather than inflecting more emotion into it.

A Unique Natasha Knight Experience

I have listened to a few of this author’s series, but I have found this one to have a different twist that’s dark and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Rather than the usual mafia boss romance, this has a different twist that keeps listeners reeled in. I loved the dark family traditions and emotional turmoil. Although I initially hoped for a different ending as I listened, it overall ended the way it was meant to and left listeners to thinking about different things that weren’t as elaborated on. I would definitely recommend to anyone that can handle smutty, violent, twisted romance.

Good book

I thought this book was good but I thought it was written the same as the last book. The wording was the same in many cases but with different characters. But still over all good book to wrap up the story of the Family’s.

Loved the storyline

I like the characters, the story telling…
What I didn’t like is the way the man is telling the story from a woman’s perspective( some characters)
But, overall I liked the rich characters.
