Publisher's summary

It's not every day a teenage girl is singled out for assassination. Crysta has come to accept the fact that she is freakishly different.

Her shocking white hair, creepy powers, and weird eating habits have prevented her from fitting in with her various foster families. Now that she is fully emancipated and providing for herself, she hopes that life will settle down and become something halfway normal.

Her hopes are shattered when a dangerous man with lethal intent breaks into her apartment, but this enticing stranger isn't what he seems. Is he here to kill her or protect her from others who will?

My Fair Assassin is a romantic love story with elements of paranormal and urban fantasy woven in for an entertaining listen.

Adults and teens alike will enjoy getting lost in Crysta's story as she finally comes to accept who she is...or rather what she is.

Great story teller and awesome

Would you consider the audio edition of My Fair Assassin to be better than the print version?

I would say it was up to the person but I did love hearing the story out loud.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Crysta, she was on unsure of herself but grew and became stronger as the story progressed

What does Alejandra Reynoso bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The tones of the character voices and inflections to their speech.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Where Jareth tells Crysta it does not matter what she is that scene was one that moved me to tears.

Good beginning

I am not an insta love fan but I enjoyed this story overall. The characters are likeable and the world building good. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the story and characters to life. I would definitely move on to book 2

Unusual story

This idea for a story is most unusual. It started out strange & I didn't understand but as I continued to read, it began to make sense. It does has some swearing. It also does not come to a conclusion so you really have to read all the books in the series to get the full story. Ms. Reynoso does a good job reading the story but there is like static in the background which takes away the enjoyment of the story in my opinion. I received a free copy from the author. This is my voluntary opinion.

Good story

Interesting and intriguing watching how this struggling human at the end of her tether manages to keep wit and humour alive despite the developing events. l only gave 4.5 stars for the narration because the male part could have been more clearly and consistantly done. But don't let that deter you any, it was a fun listen.

Exactly what I expected and then so much more!

This was a great YA paranormal book. Both Crysta and Jarrett are interesting people by themselves, but put them together and sparks literally fly. I have to admit that when I ran out of book while I was on my evening walk, I was surprised the audio book had gone by so quickly. (I only downloaded it yesterday.). I was also disappointed I hadn't downloaded the next book already on my device. I found the reader to be pleasant to listen too and I look forward to the next book in the series.

An interesting fantasy romance

My Fair Assassin is an interesting fantasy romance about an unusual orphan and a Fae assassin who comes to kill her. The main character comes off as a bit whiny and self centered at times, but she is after all a teenager, so perhaps I am being too hard on the character. The book is suitable for YA and adult readers.

The narrator of the audiobook does a very good job, though I wonder if perhaps her narration also emphasizes the character’s whiny tone.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Could not finish

I'm really disappointed in this book because it sounded so interesting but I could only make it a little over half way through before I couldn't do it anymore. The main character absolutely refuses to admit the obvious truth and becomes annoyingly defensive. I got so sick of hearing the narrator's voice for those moments that I was ready to throw something if I heard it one more time. I reached the point where I would rather sit in complete silence then head another minute of this book. At first I really liked the main character because she is willing to argue and stand up for her point but eventually she just sounded like and emotionally stunted child with the libido and body of a teenager and now I just can't stand her. I won't finish this book and I won't recommend it to anyone I know.
