Funny as hell

When I listen to Sci-Fi books, I usually don't expect "laugh out loud" humor...

My introduction to R.C. Bray was "Fear the Sky", and his characterizations were emotion inspiring to say the least...

But Craig Alanson's ExForce series gives him the characters that make us laugh... while spinning a suspenseful military sci-fi yarn that leaves the listener crave more.

Hurry up with Paradise.

Repetitive

I found this story very repetitive. Impossible problem, Nobel sacrifice, crazy plan that works, humorous insults, repeat.

CANNOT WAIT for the next book!

This is as good as Starship Troopers and Forever War with overtones of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. The action is well paced; the plot and characters are well developed. Good mix of the tensions of battle, the boredom of long distance travel and the humor of interaction between disparate intelects.


The narration is perfect. The reader has Joe's Maine accent spot on. When the narrative calls for it, he adds just the right amount of dramatic interpretation to the dialog. I cannot but think that the narration adds to and accentuates the experience.

Looking forward to the release of Paradise on Audible.

Repetitive, predictable, lacks imagination

Disappointing. Second book is a number of repetitive events with identical, unimaginative dialog and outcomes. It seems the author took a template, and applied it 10 times. Characters development was non-existent.

Monkey jokes used way to much

Ridiculous plot holes, extremely annoying Skippy dialog, some useless filler, but entertaining. If you enjoyed the first book you'll enjoy this one.
