an excellent cast of characters and a solid plotline

a very good story set let down by a more wooden narrator. clearly read and of good quality, but some scenes were not given needed weight. still worth your time.

Didn’t grab me

The bundle is worth the credit if your curious. Good story, I am not a fan of the narrator though. Very limited in his character variation.

Great series

Loved this series. A few twists had me predicting an ending that never happened. It’s hard to find a story that can surprise these days, but this one managed to do it.

Tedious

It lacks the philosophical depth of “Starship Troopers”, and the brutality of “The Mote in God’s Eye”, but it reminds me of both. It is light entertainment in the form of endless conflict. It is realistic in the military love of jargon, and terrible in terms of hackneyed expressions from other cultures, which is also realistic, because soldiers tend not to be linguistically creative. Another point of realism, is that being a soldier is simultaneously tedious and stressful.

As an exploration of being a soldier or officer, this is good. As a form of entertainment, finishing it was too much to ask. I gave up on it after 8 hours. 🤷‍♂️

I enjoyed this series.

Interesting characters I grew to love and root for. Excellent story. Not too sugary. Not too flowery. Not too violent. Perfectly rated between PG and R.
