Publisher's summary

The epic, can’t-miss follow-up to the New York Times best-selling Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Rise of Kyoshi.

Kyoshi’s place as the true Avatar has finally been cemented - but at a heavy cost. With her mentors gone, Kyoshi voyages across the Four Nations, struggling to keep the peace. But while her reputation grows, a mysterious threat emerges from the Spirit World. To stop it, Kyoshi, Rangi, and their reluctant allies must join forces before the Four Nations are destroyed irreparably.

This thrilling follow-up continues Kyoshi’s journey from a girl of humble origins to the merciless pursuer of justice still feared and admired centuries after becoming the Avatar.

A great addition the the avatar universe!!!!

This book is Amazing! The depth and tone of this series takes the avatar universe into an amazingly serious and fantastic journey. I absolutely recommend reading/listening to this book. It expands the lore of the avatar universe and gives the character of Kyoshi a humanizing/relatable personality. I only hope they either do more with a Kyoshi’s story after this or continue with more novels about other avatars. Nancy Wu does a fantastic job giving these characters their voices. An amazing performance. 5/5 review. Please if you love avatar you need to share this journey.

This series was fantastic

I was sucked in from the first chapter of the first book to the last sentence of this book. Brilliant telling of a story we all longed for. Nancy Wu is the perfect narrator for these books. She did a masterful job. F. C. Yee is stellar at story telling and incorporated so many wonderful new elements to the avatar world while keeping to the originality of the universe. Do yourself a favor and listen to both of these books.

"Guys, Kyoshi is super gay"

While I feel like the performance of certain characters differs from how I would have imagined them in my head, this is an unavoidable part of audiobooks. What's important is that Kyoshi and Rangi are in love.

So good!

My only complaint is that there are not more books about Kyoshi’s life. Awesome book!

The best Avatar series

This opens up the missing story of Kuruk and Yangchen, including the lesser known accomplishments of Kuruk and some of Yangchen's mistake despite of her revered status. Definitely A+, probably beats both the ATLA and Korra series in the universe.

I loved it!

It was so great, I’m waiting for the next one.

I loved everything about it and I don’t think some of the other reviews are fair.

Complex and Emotional

Awesome Book, fast and unique. The narrator was engaging with both a wide range of voices and emotionally complex.
