Publisher's Summary

This collection includes all three books in Serena Valentino's Villains trilogy.

Fairest of All: A Tale of the Wicked Queen

Why exactly is the wicked Queen so nasty, particularly to Snow White? Perhaps it has something to do with the creepy-looking man in the magic mirror who's not just some random spooky visage.

The Beast Within: A Tale of Beauty's Prince

A cursed prince sits alone in a secluded castle. Few have seen him, but those who claim they have say his hair is wild and nails are sharp - like a beast's! But how did this prince, once jovial and beloved by the people, come to be a reclusive and bitter monster? And is it possible that he can ever find true love and break the curse that has been placed upon him?

Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale of the Sea Witch

The third novel in Serena Valentino's Villains trilogy features the story of the Little Mermaid from the perspective of the sea witch Ursula.

This is one Evil Disney Famiy

I have been pleasantlysurprised at these stories. I do not want to give anything away to ruin it.,but I live the way the author is tying all the stories together...that is all I am going to say on that, except....WOW!, Who knew?!?!Great idea. Excellent "behind the scenes" twist. reader is excellent. although you could pick these books up singularly, I suggest you read them in order to get the full effect. job well done

Intertwining and Amazing

I love these books! The intro to these three sisters makes all these Disney stories and the evil queens/beast/sea witch back stories and the inter mingle of the sisters is amazing!

Very enjoyable

It was a fun book to listen to and I like the way it was read. However I did find some points of the story a bit confusing.

This is not your childhood Disney experience!

These are not the Disney Fairy Tales you grew up watching. Serena Valentino has taken characters we are familiar with and lifted their stories to a whole new level. I found each tale fascinating. The first is Snow White. What happened before her step mother changed? What caused her to change? What kind of relationship did the pair have when Snow was a child? And who are those nasty cousins?

Next we meet the Beast, before he is a Beast. What was his relationship with Gaston? Who did the Prince date? What happened? Why? How did those nasty cousins get involved here?

Lastly, we come to the story of Ursula, the Sea Witch from Ariel’s story. What caused her to become who and what she was.? Who was her family? Why were she and Triton on such bad terms? What did she have against the Little Mermaid? How did Ursula become friends with those nasty little cousins? Why did the Dark Fairy warm the cousins to watch out from Ursula?

All in all, the stories were a great listen. Not only were the tales well crafted, but the narration was beyond excellent! Lucy Raynor’s voice is perfect for these stories. Her accent runs from upper class British nobility to a rollicking Scottish brogue and everything in between. Some characters are very young, others old, some are the epitome of grace and excellence while others are slightly crazed to down right loopy. Raynor catches them all and each are given their own voice. These stories were so fun to hear performed. Totally worth the credit for 17 hours of exemplary story telling.

In between the lines

I love how the story wraps itself around the fairytales you know and give a little more context as to why our villainous characters act and think the way they do

The Villains Trilogy

I was unsure about getting this trilogy but then I asked around to see if anyone I knew read or listened to these books and I heard lots of good about this trilogy. I decided to get it and I'm addicted! Then I found out that there are more! I can't wait to get the next books in the collection. (Mistress of All Evil and Mother Knows Best) of the 3 I've listened to my favorite book is The Beast Within: A Tale of Beauty's Prince.
