Publisher's summary
A team of military contractors fights for its life in this high-adrenaline, full-cast drama from Mark Greaney, author of the Audible and New York Times best-selling Gray Man series.
Josh Duffy is staring into the abyss.
A decorated army veteran turned military contractor, his last mission went sideways, leaving him badly injured and his career derailed. Now, he’s working as a mall cop, trying to keep his family one step ahead of the bill collectors.
So when a chance at redemption - and a big pay day - comes his way, Duff eagerly jumps in.
The job - to ride shotgun on a motorcade of heavily armed and armored vehicles as they roll into Mexico’s cartel country. The mission - to find a notorious drug lord and bring him to the negotiating table with the Mexican government and the UN.
But Duff’s employer, Armored Saint, has a track record that’s sketchy, at best. And from the moment the motorcade hits the dusty roads, the danger only increases.
It's a suicide run - and for Duff, the violent forces of the cartels may not be the biggest threat.
NOTE: Armored contains scenes of violence and strong language and is intended for mature listeners.

On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Almost all accounts of D-Day are told from the Allied perspective, with the emphasis on how German resistance was overcome on June 6, 1944. But what was it like to be a German soldier in the bunkers and gun emplacements of the Normandy coast, facing the onslaught of the mightiest seaborne invasion in history? What motivated the German defenders, what were their thought processes - and how did they fight from one strong point to another, among the dunes and fields, on that first cataclysmic day?

Movie in your ears
I don’t normally bother with these reviews but this production was something else, more like a movie in your ears than anything I have heard for 30 years, not since the last of the radio plays. The story was strong, multidimensional and action packed, hard to put down. The performance’s where excellent. It’s going to be hard going back to a voice reading a book, even Jack Reacher read by Jeff Harding falls flat against this multidimensional production. Treat yourself, it’s a movie in your head and ears, give your eyes a rest and enjoy, and, I dare you to try and fall asleep, not going to happen.

Disappointed
I bought this because I love the Gray Man stories and the amazing things in the plots. This is a radio serial type delivery, not what I expected and I am sorry I bought it.
I hope Greaney turns out some more Gray Man. I might enjoy reading or listening to a regular delivery of this but am not willing to have it blasted at me like this item does.

What you'd expect from Greaney
Full cast productions are written more like a radio show script than a book. If you are expecting the typical dramatic delivery from Jay Snyder you'll be disappointed. He's the best reader on audible and he has a small role here. If a story is well scripted there's a lot to be said about a full cast performance. Most performances here were good. The story is full of tense moments and action. Although there's no central character on the level of the Gray Man, the characters are interesting and the story is full of edge of your seat action. Mark Greaney's storytelling is simply the best in my opinion.

Absolutely Fuckin Amazing!
As a veteran 11B team leader from OIFIII, this amazing work of art brought so many emotional responses from me. Something that an audiobook never has done. Mark is my favorite author, and he proves why with this. The writing is amazing and accurate. The cast did a perfect job. I've never heard an audiobook that had acting as good as this. All of you should be proud for doing such an accurate and amazing job on this project. You all did a great service to the men and woman of our military with this accurate portrayal. Thank you and I look forward to this new series!

Surprisingly GOOD!
At first I was not too thrilled with the enactment vs the usual narrative I have become accustomed to over the past 250+ audio books I’ve had the pleasure to hear. The story came alive as the actors came into the light, and the special effects really added a lot to the realism. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes Mark Greaney’s work, its really like being in a big movie theatre!

A book made better..
I was dubious about the full cast reading the book, but it was great, you can hear the bullets flying and get a feel of who the characters really are…a great performance.

This is AWESOME!!!
Story is the same brilliance we expect from Mark Greaney. But the fact that this is also narrated by a full cast makes this one of the best things I’ve listened to in a while.
The story has you hooked from the first 3 minutes and you’re in. For the next 5 hours you’re in for one hell of a story.
I found myself trying find more chores around the house so I could keep listening.
100% recommend.

Loved it
I’ve read and listened to all the Grayman books, twice. At first I wasn’t sure about this format, but I loved it. If you ever need an Aussie voice,,,,, just sayin’

I’d prefer narration
Often I’ll read the book kindle version with the audible version doing the narration.
This book is like a screenplay and not like the book. Ok but not my cup of tea.

Strange format
I didn't realise this was a play and not a narrated novel so I didn't find it descriptive enough for my liking. Also it took a while to get use to the jumping from one setting to another.

armored review
Quite a lot different from usual book tapes. Felt like l was part of the action with all the realistic sound effects. Storyline a little weak, though.

Struggled to keep going
I have loved all of Mark Greaney books, but this has taken a turn for the worse. I listen to books being read, but I didnt sign up for a movie sound track. The sound effects are great but leave no room for my imagination. I hope that Mark does not go this way in any of his future books.
I thought the story itself was good but I couldn't finish!

It was like being inside a movie with my eyes closed
The only thing missing with this story was the cinema photography and cgi effects .. nicely put together by everyone involved ..!!
