Very good!!
Bought this on a whim for something to listen to while waiting for another book to come out, and so happy I did! Very well done characters flushed out just the right amount to make them all interesting without getting to bogged down in back story. The magic system is VERY well thought out!! Reminds me of the Dresden files with explaining how and why the magic works instead of a generic fireball or lightning spell. 5 stars!!!

Found a new favorite series

Great book, well narrated. 2nd book isnt.

Enjoyable
I wasn't sure what to think of it in the beginning but I grew engrossed in the story as it moved along. I think the story is very interesting so far with a likable main character so I'm continuing on to book 2 to see what happens next.

nice addition to litrpg
I really like the way the author use the litrpg in a unique way but what I really like is all the pop reference spliced in. It is like we watch or read many of the same things.

The Ending is perfect as is the series
This book series is amazing. Most of the complaining in reviews are people grumpy with the ending. The ending is integral to the progression of the story. The ending is kinda frustrating but you realize its importance in book 2 almost immediately, it’s not some copout. If you don’t like fey and fairy bargains and such then turn right on around. This is one of the BEST book series I have found in litrpg, system apocalypse, and progression fantasy genres. The story is good the characters feel like actual people. The series is a ten out of ten. I have read 100+ books in these genres and these books are just objectively good, and subjectively amazing.
