Publisher's summary

Leaving Earth is the easy part. Surviving the trip to a new home 10,000 light years away is a journey like no other.

Merritt Alder is done with Earth. The planet is polluted and overpopulated, and its people are hungry.

Earth's first colony, Galena, is a pioneer world 10,000 light years away. It has clean air, unpolluted water, and continents of arable land. Anyone can start a new life…if they can get there.

For Merritt, the journey is only the beginning. Obstacles arise every step of the way, forcing compromise and sacrifice. And not everyone on his ship is pure of heart.

The bonds he forges on the journey will be the key to surviving on another world—a world anyone has yet to fully explore.

A world with secrets of its own.

Another World is a bold new entry in the realm of planet colonization and pioneer science fiction, an odyssey across our own galaxy to start a new life on Earth’s first colony.

An excellent start

Hard to find anything to complain about here.

Strong character building. Detailed world building. Well-paced plot. Unusual alien biology. Likeable heroes, despicable villains.

Very much looking forward to the sequels.

S’s may puncture ear drums

My God the narrator’s s’s are so piercing that I cringe every time he says a word with an s in it. Turn the volume down or your ears will suffer !!

Good start to a three book series.

I really enjoyed this series as well as the series before it. entertaining sci-fi without any smut. Listen/read The Titan Chronicles first for a better understanding of the back story.

Awesome

This book maintained my attention throughout. I found myself locked onto the story and found it difficult to wait for each adventure to come to fruition. Unique imagination by the author.

Engaging. I’ll read the next one

I enjoyed the story. Most of the science fiction I find these days comes in series. I usually like this when the author is able to work the plots in ways that are not too predictable. This one has a few unresolved issues that could develop in many ways. I look forward to seeing how they turn out.

Interesting Premise

I thought the story kept my interest throughout. The premises of:
1. bad guys can change stripes
2. kids can't survive without parents
3. The government is helpful
NOT
I hope the additional books go to audible soon--just waiting.

Save your credit

I’ve read other books by this author and found them engaging and quite good.

This is my first Audible negative review.

I think this book needed to sit on a hard drive for a while. It really goes nowhere. The characters are poorly developed. They are not intriguing or even likable - not one. Perhaps, there was pressure to publish?

not a good purchase decision

I had incorrectly assumed given the quality of the narrator that the story would be at least satisfactory. but I had difficulty getting around the many unrealistic and illogical happenings particularly surrounding an antagonist with very unrealistic capabilities. I would advise you not to waste a credit.
