This was a good book and the star of a good series

The story was great, the narration ... One thing that did grate on my ears, everytime I heard it, was pronouncing corpsman as corpse-man. The S is always silent. It was that way throughout the book. Setting that feedback aside, the narrator was skilled, did multiple voices well, had exceptional tempo, and overall created added value to the story. I would have no problem purchasing a book with the same narrator in the future, or by the same author.

A new author for me, and I loved it

This book was a great beginning for a series. The development of the characters was unexpected and added to the mystery of what was going on. I really enjoyed listening to this book.

The narrator did an outstanding job of amplifying the emotions of the characters as well as the multiple voices required for the characters.

Poorly narrated

The story was good, however the narrator was so poor that it almost caused me to quit listening, after 4 or 5 chapters.

Excellent Read for for sci fi fans...

...And those who like off world military Adventure. I have enjoyed everything I have read by Jasper T Scott!!

Proper pronunciation

Corpsman is pronounced coreman. The P is silent. A corpse is a dead body. It’s very disconcerting to hear this mispronounced over and over and over.

Too "Alien" for me

Simply not my cup of tea. It reminded me too much of the movie "Alien" for whatever reason.

Though a much used theme, very well written and presented.

Like most readers, I thought, I wouldn't have done that, the heros should have known better. But, like in real life, people do what they're going to do, even if it's wrong. That keeps the story exciting. A few surprises keeps you coming back for more. I recommend it. You will enjoy.

Great Book for Scifi Newbie

This is the first scifi book I have ever listened to. It was good from the beginning. Quick paced, never felt bored. Narration was good.

BETTER THAN EXPECTED

A good sci-fi story that gets better as the story progresses. Will be purchasing the second book when it becomes available.
