Great Read

A Bride for Travis (The Proxy Brides Book 10) was another great read by Barbara Goss. Lydia has always wanted to be a mother but not a wife. She meets Molly who is an orphan that she decides she wants to adopt. Travis decides to stay single after being conned by to mail order brides. His sister asks him to marry a woman in Denver by proxy so that she can adopt a child. Things go bad when he decides to marry a mail order bride who turns up. He travels to Denver to have Lydia sign an annulment, but things don't go as planned. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read more by Barbara Goss.

A book I will definitely listen to again!

After finishing this audio book, I thought, "That was so much fun!" The narrator has a soothing voice that is easy to listen to. I could easily keep track of which character was speaking. That, I've found, is not true with all audio books. The story itself was entertaining and heart tugging. I don't blame Lydia for wanting to adopt an orphan. Molly, the little girl, was so endearing and fleshed out as a person that I wanted to take her home too. There was a hint of intimacy in the book, just like I enjoy. Nothing graphic or embarrassing. It was beautifully and tastefully written.
The christian message of God guiding our actions and steering us is one that I found thought provoking. I also was challenged by the idea of forgiveness that is demonstrated. Both themes are developed well in the book.
I received this audio book through Audioboom. Still, I listened because I was intrigued by the description and the series. This is my honest review of a fantastic book done artfully by a talented narrator.

A truly enjoyable listen!

I listened to the audio version of this book. This is another historical fiction by Barbara Goss that makes you leave your troubles behind and just get lost in the time and the characters. There is always a Christian element to her books that make you want to be a better person by the end.
A Bride for Travis deals with honesty, belief in your spouse and honoring your word. Travis is in sort of a pickle as far as the women in the book goes, but he does what he can to do right by both. Lydia got married by proxy so that she can adopt a little girl from the orphanage she works at. She never expects to meet her husband, much less invite him into her home. As the two develop feeling for each other, there is a twist that could easily destroy them. Will Lydia be able to have enough faith in Travis and not fall prey to the lies told about him?
A truly enjoyable story. I was given a complimentary copy of this audio book.

Cute short story!

I like how Barbara twists a plot - unexpectedly and surprisingly well. I come to love a marriage by proxy...

I Did Not Finish

Unfortunately, I did not make it past the first few chapters. While I love anything by Barbara Goss, this narrator just wasn't for me. I found her voice acceptable until she started the dialogue. It just didn't work for me. I will however, be picking up the paperback because I am very intrigued to see how this plot progresses.

A Bride for Travis

I have enjoyed this series. Lydia wanted to adopt Molly. Travis had given up on the idea of marriage after 2 bad attempts of sending for a mail order bride. But God had different plans for them. Lili Dubuque did a great job narrating this story.

A Bride for Travis

Lydia wants to adopt a young girl, but is told she can’t without being married. Travis has come to the decision that he’ll never marry. A proxy marriage is set up between the two so that Lydia will be allowed to adopt, and Travis can just work his ranch without worrying about anyone else. When the two meet, is it possible there could be more than just a marriage on paper only?

I love losing myself in Barbara Goss’s stories. They are always so well written and full of emotion... I’m always left feeling content and happy.

I enjoyed Lili Dubuque’s performance. She did a great job of bringing out all of the emotions.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Love ❤️ will find a way !

This is my first audible book by Barbara Goss .
Barbara writes a book with romance, excitement, drama , and so much more .
The characters have a strong faith in God . This is a plus to me . Like how she writes a sweet romance that keeps the listener wanting to finish the audible book in one day . I absolutely loved the sweet love story of Travis and Lydia . What makes the book extra special is the story talks about adoption. This made me smile . I highly recommend A Bride for Travis for those of you that like sweet romance . This is clean romance . 😊❤️
