Wonderful!
I listened to the audio version of this book. This series is such a delight! This is a wonderful story about jilted Wyatt and his efforts to find a wife based on more than her physical appearance. He needs someone cutout to be a farmer's wife. Vera responds to his appeal and after many letters and a marriage by proxy thay begin the journey of getting to know each other.
I'm so glad I took that journey with them! Goss has once again written a story that makes you yearn for those purer times and places. Wonderful!

Excellent!
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing this book and now I have had the added pleasure of listening to it narrated by J. Scott Bennett. He is just so perfect for this kind of book.
So let me tell you what I thought of the story itself.
It is really such a sweet and tender tale and I loved it from beginning to end.
The main characters, Vera and Wyatt are really well suited but they have to realise that fact and this is what the book is all about.
I just loved them, their getting to know one another, their shyness and their growing care for each other.
It is so nicely put together that not only is it a pleasure to read and listen to but it made me think that the modern day misses and misters could learn a thing or two from these two characters. I sure did and I hope you do too!
My review above is voluntary and unbiased after reading and listening to the book and audiobook.

Vera gains confidence
Vera stepped in as mom for her 8 younger siblings when her parents passed away. After several years she looks for a way out of the daily grind and gets the idea to be a mail order bride. Wyatt';s first fiance ran off with his friend and he isn't sure if he wants to get married after all. His family talks him into trying a mail order bride.
Vera and Wyatt correspond for a while until both are confident that getting married is the right choice for them. When Vera arrives she is confident in areas surrounding running a household, but she is brand new to the idea of having a husband.
When Wyatt's ex-fiance shows up and recognizes their farm hand, both Wyatt and Vera have to rely on God and each other to get through.
Enjoyable and sweet romance from Barbara Goss with excellent narration and that makes this book a winner in my library.

Wyatt and Vera!
I could never imagine being a proxy bride, but I do love living through these stories to see what it may have been like! Barbara Goss gives us Vera. She has raised her siblings and now it is time for her to begin living her own life. A proxy wedding sounds like a viable solution. Wyatt, jilted by his girl, Lucy is trying to mend a broken heart. Not wanting to have looks sway his decision, a proxy bride could be the answer, But when these two meet after the wedding, will they find they are suited? What a wonderful story. Goss always comes through with a message in her books, and a feeling of happiness. I love to listen to her. Wyatt and Vera are wonderful characters. I love their journey, and the hesitations for next steps. It's sweet, loving and a great listen.
Who better to bring this all to life than Scott J. Bennett? He is the perfect voice for this time period. I love how he settles into each character, bringing a personality all it's own out of the book. He makes them alive and the listens fun.

A Bride for Wyatt
A sweet proxy bride story. It’s time for Vera to make way for her younger sister to take on the role of care giver. Becoming a proxy bride seems like her best option. Wyatt had his heart broken when his betrothed ran off with his best friend. A proxy marriage may be just what he needs. Will Vera and Wyatt develop feelings for each other, or will this be more of a business arrangement?
I have been looking forward to the release of a new Barbara Goss story and this one did not disappoint. I’m always left with a warm feeling in my heart after listening to one of her stories.
Scott J. Bennett does a great job of bringing the story to life. He’s one of my favorite narrators.

Love this series!
Each book is this series just warms your heart. This is a quick read/listen and is worth every minute! Wyatt was heartsick when his betrothed ditched him for his best friend...incidentally, his rich best friend. Now that he’s recovered, he knows that the practical thing would be to restart his search for a wife...one who’s not afraid of life as a farmer’s wife. He decides on a wife by proxy. Vera is the oldest of her siblings and has played the role of parent ever since the death of their parents. Her sister has convinced her that, at the ripe old age of 26, it’s past time for her to look for a husband.
Wyatt and Vera begin writing to each other and, eventually agree to marry by proxy. Can a martiage started this way really last? This couple are both God-fearing people and put their faith and trust in Him to guide them. The arrival of Wyatt’s ex has the potential to throw a wrench into the newlyweds life but the plot twist is excellent! Throughout the book is the subtle theme of forgiveness. There is nothing that is unforgivable...we need to start with forgiving ourselves.
The narrator is perfect for this series, he has that genteel voice that you imagine from the pioneer times :)
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wonderful
Vera and Wyatt's love story might have many twist and turns along the way, but it is definitely a journey worth taking with them. Wyatt soon learns that Vera is beautiful through and through. Vera realizes that she is both beautiful and worthy of love. This was yet another superb book by Barbara Goss.
