Publisher's summary

One threat hangs over Paige's head.

Merry Eastwood is in Texas.

After breaking the treaty between the shifters and the witches - in order to save the shifters, mind you - this could be the invitation Merry Eastwood needed to start a new war, putting the shifters and the Whiskeys in danger.

But going home isn't that easy. There's a lot of trust that needs to be rebuilt, but with the stakes so high, Paige has to try.

If that wasn't enough, her grandmother is going senile. Also, her fire-starter niece is hitting puberty, her bard nephew still hasn't learned how to control his voice, and her demon-hunting boyfriend is still learning how to control his shift. There's no safe haven for the Whiskeys.

So many enemies. So little time to regroup. How is Paige going to keep the Whiskeys safe?

Witches, Baby Prophets?, and more!

A Barrel of Whiskey
A Whiskey Witches Novel
By: S.M. Blooding
Narrated by: Kalinda Little
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
I think this is the best one so far! I really enjoyed this book. So many surprises and changes in here that kept the book hopping and fresh. So much going on now! Wow, I can't tell you about any of it due to spoilers just that it is exciting, full of adventure, action, and magic. (And lots of little surprises!)
The narrator was awesome and kept this flowing and blossoming into a powerhouse of a story!

I LOVE this Series

Once again the Author does not dissapoint. I love the Whiskey Witches stories. They are a dysfunctional family of witches that fight and love fierce. The various types of magic and creatures in this book is great. It is a fast paced read that keeps you engaged from the start. The narrator did a fabulous job bringing the story and characters to life. I look forward to reading/listening to more in this series.

Crazy Amazing Witch Family!

Would you consider the audio edition of A Barrel of Whiskey to be better than the print version?

Absolutely loved it in audio! I don't think I could of read it now that I have heard it on it on audiobook. Maybe/maybe not! I love reading but this story was amazing when I listened to it.

What other book might you compare A Barrel of Whiskey to and why?

I can't get enough of this book bit also the whole series. This picks up right where book 2 leaves off. Everything kicks up more action and trouble this time. Along with family drama with a good amount of romance.

What does Kalinda Little bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brought the story move alive especially when Cali talks to Whiskey. Love the different voices and some of the small of sound effects.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book had me crying and laughing all through the book.

Any additional comments?

From book 1 till now all of the books have been amazing.

Mixed feelings about the betrayals in book 3

I received a complimentary copy of this book.

So I reviewed the first two books in the Whiskey Witches series, and am now having the chance to listen and review the third. This is my "I liked it but" review. It started out strong and exciting, with a best friend's murder, and a special baby to be protected and hidden from those who would do harm. Then there's the but. About half of the book was dealing with Paige's wallowing in self-pity and lots and lots of family drama. It was getting to be too much. But finally, in the last couple of hours of the book, it got exciting and intense. Kidnapping, family attacks, death threats, the ultimate test, and learning more about their magic. It ends with a "we're coming for you" attitude but I'm not super convinced we should forgive or team up with those that were behind it all. So I kind of have mixed feelings but it sounds like the fourth book is going to be epic. I'm enjoying the narrator like I had in the previous book. Overall 3.5 stars.
