enjoyable self-improvement book

This self-improvement book does a great job taking the stories of great achievers and sharing them in such a way that leads the reader to their own conclusions about how to become such an achiever. With hard work, good networking skills, and treating their fellow man with respect and admiration- these traits become obtainable.

The stories shared in this audio book provide hope for a better future without negating the effort it takes. Cameron C. Taylor advocates for working smart instead of working hard by cultivating these traits that enable regular men and women to become something greater than they are. While this book is not much more than stories- each story has been carefully chosen to illustrate the chosen point in an easy to understand and enjoyable way.

Great Inspirational Self Help Book

This book is great a chapter/attribute at a time! Each of the attributes are shown from real people in history and more present times and I really appreciated the insight given around them. Many stories jumped out and were very memorable for me- like Irena Sendler's with her saving thousands of children during World War II and the amount of courage she had and I would add strength as well. Really a great read and the narration was well done.

Uplifting!

This is one of the most inspirational, uplifting books I've read in a long time. It reads like a motivational speech that gives you steps and ideas to help you to build a more productive and fulfilling life. His advice is simple, but takes motivation to put into action. With each character attribute that will lead to greater achievement, he shares a vignette featuring wisdom from some of the most positive and productive people through history. Some were so enlightening that I had to read them twice. It is presented in clear, concise language in terms that are straightforward and understandable. If you should need a reminder of your purpose in life, I recommend that you page through this book, taking in the words and insights of some of the men and women whose character shines. The narration is expertly done by Benjamin Fife.

Learning from the Greats

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Cameron C. Taylor writes 8 Attributes of Great Achievers, which is the second volume in his Great Achievers series. This book covers many positive traits of leaders and achievers. The content doesn't fill particularly fresh, but it provides a good reminder in a concise format. Benjamin Fife narrates this work, and he gives a compelling performance.

In each chapter, Taylor shares an attribute that will help you become a great achiever. He argues the value of each attribute with character studies of prominent figures, personal examples and opportunities for self-examination. The stories and anecdotes from famous individuals are particularly engaging, and their quotes are peppered throughout the book. Examples include Viktor E. Frankl, Christopher Columbus, John Wooden and James Stockdale. Most of the content is not unique to this book, as it can be learned in basic historical textbooks. Nonetheless, Taylor combines the information in a way that clearly shows the value of each attribute.

Benjamin Fife is an expressive narrator, which makes him a great choice for this book. His narration is clear and precise, and he adds the right amount of emotion to keep things interesting. There were a couple times in this book where the recording would stop or catch, but it didn't detract very much from the overall experience. This content has the potential to sound monotonous and flat, but Fife does a fine job keeping it engaging throughout the three hour and 51 minute run time.

8 Attributes of Great Achievers, Vol. 2 is interesting and inspiring. All eight attributes are positive traits, and Taylor includes enough facts and references to give credibility to each. Some of the chapters seem like a review of common knowledge. Although, when taken as a whole, this book can help motivate one to better themselves. Fife brings the concepts together in a unique way with his solid narration. If you enjoy self-help or historical books, you will likely enjoy this title.

Great content. Very relatable.

I enjoyed the book very much and related well to the stories. I enjoyed volume 1 more but this was still worth the listen to.

I had a rough time with the narrator. No offense but had a hard time paying attention at first to the content and not his unique voice.
