Entirely religious material - Not what I expected

I listened to another Zig Ziglar tape a few years ago and I liked it, so I gave this audiobook a chance. The previous tape I listened to was inspiring and Zig was full of energy. It was a lot of common sense material.
THIS audiobook "Staying up, up, up,..." is almost ENTIRELY a mono-tone, religious review of biblical scriptures.
"Psalm 23 says"
"Mark, chapter 2, verse 10 says"
"Paul, in Leviathon 5 tells us that"
On and on......
I did not enjoy this audiobook at all.

Love Ziglar, Just Not This Book

I really love Zig Ziglar's material; however, this one falls flat. It sounds like someone knocked the wind out of him. It's monotonous and doesn't present anything new. I would highly recommend other Ziglar works; just not this one.

very religious

What disappointed you about Staying Up, Up, Up in a Down, Down World?

I didn't realize it was going to be about the bible and religion. I was extremely disappointed and I couldn't finish it cause this is not what I bought the book for. The book should have been called, what the bible and religion and can do for you to stay up in a down world. But, if you like bible talk and religion, you might like it.

I want my credit back!

The only thing I liked about this book was the author's name. Although this book is supposed to be a 'self-help’ book, I felt the author's overly “superiorly virtuous” attitude and self- righteously pious condemnation of some public figures was inappropriate. I do not listen/read a self help to hear the author's opinion of who behaves badly and who does not. This guy is a republican to the core. If he wants to help and/or inspire people, he can leave out the political banter and the religious superiority. May I have my credit back?

Mr. Ziglar brings positivity like a favorite uncle

Mr Ziglar tells inspiring stories like a favorite uncle or grandfather in order to help make our lives better, either by the improvement of our actions or merely our perceptions. Thank God his inspirational message has been recorded for posterity.
