Excellent book with more information than can be consumed in one reading. I will definitely read this again!

Fantastic but read(listen) to Joel’s predecessor book “You can farm first”

So great to see the ideas in “You can farm” be added to and built on. Great content but read the first book first.

Hard truths in here that you will find in few other places. Joel has a solid logical and ethical approach to all aspects of farm life and then illustrates with understandable examples.

Listen intently and intentionally

This knowledge is priceless and inspirational. I'll see you in the field! Or the Barn, or the forest.

Salatin knows his business and does a wonderful job conveying both his experience and passion for the work. Highly recommended.

Needs better editing

As with all of Salatin’s writings the content is witty, poignant, thought-provoking and enjoyable. The publication does need better editing as there are numerous places where sentences are repeated.

Pretty good read

I liked the first, You Can Farm, much more. This one had some different info but the first book covered everything here already so this one got boring half way through it for me.

Great advice

My wife and kids always talk about having a farm. This book showed them that want land, not a farm. A working farm is for those that love it like the author. Great book with clever insights.

Another stellar book from Joel

If I thought that You Can Farm was a must-read before starting a farm (or even after farming for several years), then Your Successful Farm Business definitely is a requirement for any farmer that really takes his business seriously. I am recommending this to all of my homesteading friends and farmers (new and experienced, alike), and even found advice that applied to my non-farm business. From time management to more ideas of how to farm outside the box, Joel is a very savvy business person and has clearly put a lot of thought into what he writes, and has the experience and success to back up his advice. This is a no-nonsense book, and true to Joel style, you may not agree with everything he says. BUT if you don't find something in this book to make it worth your while, then you already have a gloriously successful farm business and can go buy recreational horses now! Congratulations!
