Every time Steve makes an appearance, I can't help but curse him. He's the most frustrating character in a series ever. the author pulls that off magnificently. There is no one else that you can't help but love to hate.

Freaking awesome

The way Shannon Mayer writes, is just freaking awesome. She will have you laughing, crying and have you saying what the hell is going to happen. All I can say is you have to read or listen to the book. And if you listen to the book, you'll love how Lauren Fortgang does it.

Loved it!!

The narrator, Lauren does a fantastic job narrating this series. She’s able to use different voices for all of the characters without causing confusion and it’s very easy to follow. I love how she breathes life into the story.
I was on the edge of my seat while listening to this book. It is so good!! You will love the characters. They are broken, cursed, but they are a kickass, powerful team. Loved it!!

Betrayal, Friendship, and Love

Zam and Lila are on a mission to stop the Emperor but is there hope to save Max too? This has been my favorite book of the series. This adventure sucked me and kept me on the edge of my seat. There are so many twist and turn but it never felt forced or overwhelming. This book moves the series along and leaves room for the adventure to continue.
If you need to get lost in a story, this one is it!

Poor addled heart!

“cray, cray”? Didn’t expect to hear that… Shannon keeps a touch of modern in these books mixed right along with the heavy fantasy feel. Not even a third of the way through listening and I’m laughing my butt off! This narrator is very good at eliciting emotions right along with the main character. So many twists and turns had me alternating between laughing, heart racing, and sputtering in shock. My heart was pulled in so many directions throughout this book. Fantastic job!

SO Many Emotions!

Although all of the characters have grown so much already, nothing compares to what they face in the fifth book in the series! Alliances, pacts, are made yet broken. As are hearts, and dreams; yet a tiny glimmer of hope remains. Despite all the darkness and challenges, Zam and Lila will always fight for what is right. Buckle up for a wild ride though. Because you definitely need to expect the unexpected with this latest book!

More twists than a Halloween corn maze!

Wyvern's Lair, book 5 of the Desert Cursed series, has Zamira, Lila, and the Jinn Masters in Max's boby attempting to figure out the Oracles cryptic advice to defeat the Emperor and remove Zam's and Lila's curses. Enemies from the past join the team. Are they friend or foe. More secrets and history are discovered. Can this help keep the Emperor caged, or does it change the nature of the game? Shannon Mayer has created an intriguing world with fascinating characters that can surprise you, which makes read or listening to her books fun. With each book in the series she has added layers that bring complexities to the situations and personalities involved. You can't predict or guess what will happen next. So looking forward to the book.

So many twists

Came back to this series to listen this time and it definitely makes a difference. Still to me the slowest of all the books in this series but I love being able to hear all the nuances!
A great case of love can, hopefully, conquer all. Zam is still fighting to keep the Emperor at bay, albeit with a now broken gem. Another trip to the black market hoping to find one and of course things go south. Trying to keep her family safe Zam sends them far away from her, but of course that doesn’t save them any because Ishtar is a real B. I still love that so many twists and turns can happen in a single book, that’s what makes Shannon Mayer so great! And this book simply provides it all ❤️

loving this series!

This series just keeps getting better! Wyverns lair started bringing a lot of connections together, can not wait to read the conclusion of the series! Shannon Mayer is a genius and a must read/listen for me!

Full of surprises

This one just helped to cement my believes, that this series is mind blowingly awesome and that Shannon Mayer rocks every book I read of hers.
Zam and her crew is just so great to follow, again it’s action packed and brought me to tears at the same time. Outstanding performance and just the right amount of everything! I wished this series would never end. But we are heading to the grand finale. Off to the next!

Love this series

Shannon Mayer is one of my favourite authors. Her worlds, characters and their journeys never disappoint and the Desert Cursed series is no different.

This next chapter in Zam’s story was once again full of adventure and betrayal, with a constant undercurrent of love that I really enjoy. No not ‘romance’, this isn’t a romcom! In fact ‘true love’ is often quite heartbreaking in Shannon’s worlds, she explores so much more than that, she always explorers love and how relationships can change; friend to enemy, enemy to love, a family of the heart that’s stronger than blood.

All mixed in with adventure that has your tension high and often has you wondering something like, ‘did I just end up rooting for the bad guy?!’

Zam’s faced so much already and still has so far to go! Please hurry with the next book already! :)
