Recently diagnosed adult here - and this was was so unbelievably enlightening for me. I went in expecting one diagnosis and left with Severe ADHD Combined - and knew nothing about it really. This book walks through everything I had questions about, and then so much more. Much appreciated.
Audio review- very easy to listen to, and very clearly spoken. Very impressed.

Such a great resource!!!

I found this book to be the most helpful so far in understanding parts of me that me that I did not know were also ADHD traits.

Covers traits of ADHD that othe books do not.

It feels like the first half of the book is just a guide to getting diagnosed with ADHD for those who aren't diagnosed yet. For those who are though it is just relentlessly going over the bad memories of childhood for no good reason.

Yes we can skip these parts of the book but the irony here is that in this book it explains how people with ADHD tend to jump the gun and go through things without reading the directions fully or not fully understanding them. This then leads to the dilemma of what one might miss if they decided to skip a large part of the book. Ultimately I couldn't take it and decided to just completely skip to part 2 or 3 (can't remember which) and read on from there.

Overall it feels like these ADHD books are all the same and just go over the same exact things. The reason I keep reading them though is because every book has at least one single great piece of advice that the others will lack. In this books case it was

1) Put reminders around me of my goals and why I want to do them in the first place. For me this is my Silver YouTube Play Button and it reminds me I need to keep working towards my Gold Play Button

2) The lack of impulse control essentially removes your free will. Makes you not feel so bad for some of your childhood mistakes.

3) Constantly check your to-do list otherwise you won't ever actually use it. I've had one for years now but am just now getting into the habit of checking it multiple times per hour even though I know I haven't added anything new to it. This helps build the habit of checking it and hopefully means I won't forget about it anymore.

Very frustrating to read when already diagnosed

Listening through, I find myself saying “didn’t you already say that?” I got a bit frustrated, desperately seeking new content.

Extremely repetitive

I recommended this book to my clients. It’s wonderful and I love how he explains the types of ADHD in a simplified way.
