Resumen del Editor

A refreshingly practical and honest guide that rewrites the script on ADHD

Peter Shankman is a busy guy - a media entrepreneur who runs several businesses, gives keynote speeches around the world, hosts a popular podcast, runs marathons and Iron Mans, is a licensed skydiver, dabbles in angel investing, and is a loving father to his young daughter.

Simply put, he always seems to have more than 24 hours in a day. How does he do it? Peter attributes his unusually high energy level and extreme productivity to his ADHD.

In Faster Than Normal, Shankman shares his hard-won insights and daily hacks for making ADHD a secret weapon for living a full and deeply satisfying life. Both inspiring and practical, the book presents life rules, best practices, and simple but powerful ways to:

  • Harness your creative energy to generate and execute your ideas
  • Direct your hyperfocus to get things done
  • Identify your pitfalls - and avoid them
  • Streamline your daily routine to eliminate distractions
  • Use apps and other tech innovations to free up your time and energy

Filled with ingenious hacks and supportive self-care advice, this is the positive, practical book the ADHD community has long needed - and is also an invaluable handbook for anyone who's sick of feeling overwhelmed and wants to drive their faster-than-normal brain at maximum speed...without crashing.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Peter is a pioneer, an adventurer, an inventor and a seer. His advice is the best kind of advice. It is advice learned in the trenches, in the arena, on the fields of life." (Edward Hallowell, MD, from the foreword, best-selling author of Driven to Distraction)
"Peter Shankman is living proof that living outside the bell-shaped curve, combined with a drive to succeed, can produce amazing results." (Jordan D. Metzl, MD, author of The Exercise Cure)
"While ADHD may be considered a ‘deficit’ to some, Shankman positions it as an attribute within the context of our immediate future. ADHD is a unique gift of creative synthesis that makes sense only inside of the complex digital networks and hyper-stimulation that now defines us." (Amanda Steinberg, CEO, Worth Financial, and author of Worth It)

Outstanding and Practical!

I’ve read other books on the topic, or started and tried, written by a Ph.D with deep clinical knowledge of ADHD, however, the boredom was too much!
THIS BOOK AND PETER are AWESOME! I will read this again via audible and I’ve ordered the paperback!! Practical advice, and really needed & so helpful! If you are ADHD, have a close friend, partner or family member who is ADHD, this book is great for you!

Exactly what I needed!!!

The book is God-sent! It's no coincidence I read it! It spoke my language! I appreciate how it shows our ADHD brain is a blessing in disguise. I will be applying the techniques, now that I understand how to maximize its power!

Essential reading upon diagnosis of ADHD. READ IT.

I will be recommending this to the pschologist who initially diagnosed (I beg the author's forgiveness for using that term) me with ADHD. This is not an academic overview of ADHD, but a much more usefull, practical "How to" guide for how to THRIVE with ADHD. I wish it had existed and that I read it years ago.

Thank you Peter Shankman, you have made my life better.

great book very relatable

as an child of his era this was a heart warming validation of my daily shenanigans that other's never understand.
the dating chapter should be it's own short story for those without to better understand.

Very helpful overall

If you (or someone you love) have ADHD but are recently diagnosed, have no routines in place or are not terribly self-aware (or have done no/little therapy) this book will help you tremendously. There are lots of lightbulb moments and the narrator is not distracting. I’m excited to start listening to his podcast for more tips on productivity with his guests, too.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm faster than normal

Being a person that has a faster than normal brain. I really appreciate this book. I found that I already used a lot of the tactics but now feel I can feel less bad about having to do them and might even be better at honing in. I'm grateful to have received this information. It is lovely to hear someone like yourself thriving because of self-awareness.
