Whether your child has only been recently diagnosed with ADHD or you’ve been living with their condition for quite a while, it’s normal for parents to feel worried, overwhelmed, and exhausted most of the time. However, keep in mind that ADHD is a condition, not a life sentence. It’s entirely possible for your young one to succeed because of their condition–not despite it. The key is learning how to address your child’s condition properly and consistently at the soonest time possible–the earlier you manage it, the higher their chances of success and happiness.

Growing from a boy to a man is no easy task. Bodies are changing, social circles are evolving, hair is appearing in places it never was before - and on top of it all, there's the ever-present pressure to conform to the typical idea of what it means to be "manly". But it's easier to do if you're armed with facts. Using personal anecdotes as an overly observant mother of two boys and plenty of scientific information from her life as a neuroscientist, Mayim Bialik, PhD, star of The Big Bang Theory, talks directly to teen boys about what it means to grow from a boy to a man.

Raising children is never an easy task; as many parents will tell you, it is a lifetime commitment and one that can sometimes be thankless. Now, raising a neurodivergent child makes parenting several times more challenging. Neurodivergence is the difference in brain function from what we consider standard or typical. A neurodivergent child shows different mental characteristics from what would be considered typical, called neurotypical. ODD and ADHD are two examples of neurodivergent disorders that are common among the population.

Brilliant book for dealing with ADHD
I have someone close to me who suffers with ADHD and I have seen how challenging it can be. What I love about this book is the emphasis on physical exercise and good nutrition. It also explains in detail how to become a more knowledgable parent and how to use the best types of disciplines to make sure your child understands their boundaries but also learning valuable life skills to use ADHD in a positive way going forward in life.
The author is very knowledgable and the narrator is personable so it makes this an easy listen. It's a must have audiobook for any parent who's child has ADHD and wants to become the best parent they can be!

Really interesting listen
Great insight.
The author’s approach in addressing this tough subject is commendable. He does a good job identifying the problem and showing that to find solutions requires a deeper understanding of the problem and an unconventional approach to solving it.
He clearly makes the case that sometimes parents require a different tool kit to help them solve this problem, and lead their children to be successful.
He does not shy away from the tough questions, the difficult interactions, and encounters that confront parents dealing with the issue, but he approaches them with empathy, and comes across as genuinely concerned for those dealing with them.
The narrator must also be commended for the job he did in articulating the thoughts and ideas laid out in the book.

A helpful guide for any parents on handling kids better and not just with those who have ADHD. It is a huge responsibility to be a parent and listening to a book like this would certainly be a great way to understand our kids more and deal with certain situations.

Teen empowerment
Have a teen in your life that could be more empowered. This book provides a lot of suggestions, coaching opportunities and action activities that will help you empower your teen to action either with your guidance or on their own. One of my favorites which all humans can relate to is getting control of your attitude, how you react and your self talk. Well written and organized. A must read.

I wish there were more
Very helpful book to this granddad working to help his preteen grandson. I just wish there were more good ideas to help us parents and grandparents - I didn't want it to stop!

Perfectly Specific
The book addressed ADHD-specific issues and doesn't fill the space with over-generalized parenting fluff. Energy levels are covered so many solutions are presented. Great read!

Took all the way through
As a parent, this book showed me everything I needed to know, and how to do things better with my child. I feel a deeper bond with my son and this book help me be cautious about certain things that I wasn’t cautious about. building that chemistry with him was very important to me, and I’m glad that this book was able to help me in that area
