Publisher's summary

In the conclusion of the three-volume time travel sequence, Jonathan Shade is sent back to 1926 to kill an upstart wizard named Henry Winslow. Henry wants to die because in order to achieve his goal of immortality, he must first achieve resurrection.

Jonathan Shade and Kelly Chan are part of a larger plan playing out across time, and while Henry Winslow is a major player, there's someone else acting as the mastermind, and his name is Jonathan Shade.

Shade's plan relies on changing the way things happened in the 1920s...but if things change too much, there won't be a future to which any of them can return.

Another great Jonathan Shade Adventure

I absolutely love the twists and turns that Gary Jonas weaves in his stories. With the layering of time travel, the reader has no idea who will live and who will die. Joe Hempel's narration adds even more life to the story.
In order to appreciate everything that is going on, you need to start with book one and read them in order.

Story is a bit rambling

I jumped in right in the middle of this series. I enjoyed it once I figured out what was going on. The story felt a bit rambling at times but overall I loved it. Definitely going to grab up the other books.

As always Joe Hempel did a wonderful job. Very enjoyable.

Final book in Series

This final book brought all the loose ends to a conclusion. More deaths, and Lifes.
I enjoyed this series enough to finish it but some of the books were not as good as the others.

Entertaining book

This was another entertaining novel in the Jonathan Shade world. The book has action, suspense, and a healthy dose of fantasy and supernatural. This is the 6th book in the series, and I have read all the previous books. I have to admit that while this book was still good and entertaining, I find that my interest in waning a bit. Don't get me wrong - I'm still glad I read it, and I will continue to read the books in the series - but I'm not sure how much of my continuation of the series is just to get a sense of completion, or if it is for true enjoyment. I like the characters and the humor throughout the book. I think this is an interesting series, especially for those fond of supernatural fantasy. I listened to the Audible audio version of the book narrated by Joe Hempel. I think Hempel's narration skills keep getting better as the series progresses. He gives unique voices to the characters and keeps the story moving along.

Loved it. !

This series is very suspenseful and mysterious. While the subject matter is a bit dark, the characters are very well developed and the story kept me guessing. I love a good mystery, and these books did not disappoint!“

Always Entertaining!

Any additional comments?

I like how this story wraps up a lot of the loose ends. Also, after a lifetime of adventure and loss, Jonathan Shade has become more subdued and insightful person. The twits and turns continue in this story but JS uses a more thoughtful approach to achieving his goal of getting the timeline back on track and saving the lives of his friends. I think most fans of this series will like how it all warps up. Joe Hempel continues to do an outstanding job with the narration. I can easily recommend this audiobook.I was given this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.

Jonathan Shade, You don' know what trouble he will be in next

What about Joe Hempel’s performance did you like?

As always, Joe Hempel is Shade, slick talking, quick thinking and devious: his narration is perfection

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are funny parts, so, yes, I laughed several times and smiled a lot

Any additional comments?

Very much worth the credit

At Last, The Trilogy Comes To An End

“Wizard’s Nocturne” wraps up the trilogy that began with book 4. There are now two Jonathan Shades due to the perils of time travel. The older Shade has a plan to fix everything and stop Henry Winslow, but he’ll only get one chance to do so and he isn’t even sure the plan will work. The true mastermind of the whole time travel trilogy is revealed. The final book in this trilogy is more interesting than the first two, but I still didn’t care for the trilogy overall. Also, things happen in the third book that just don’t make sense to me. I don’t know if it is due to major plot holes or if it is just a matter of needing to re-read the first two books and then the third back to back to back so that everything is fresh in my mind. Either way, I was disappointed with the trilogy and do not recommend it to anyone. I look forward to a completely new Jonathan Shade story from author Gary Jonas and hope it will come soon. Until then, I recommend books 1 through 3 only.
