Slightly better than the last, but still not good

This is a little better than the last in the series. I felt the pacing was better, there was enough excitement, and a "split the party" concept kept you bouncing back and forth enough, and excited for when the would meet back up. Overall, probably the best in the series, but it still isn't that good. It is still a kids book with minimal character development, horrible choices that have you pulling your hair out as you watch them happen, choices made by what is right with no thought of what is possible, plot armor so think that you know nothing will EVER happen to these characters, and no real storyline other than introducing all the races thru out the books.

But still, the best in the series so far. I won't be getting the next one though.
