War and madness cast shadows over the lands dragons once ruled. Geder Palliako's star is rising. He is a hero of Antea, protector to the crown prince, and darling of the court. But storms from his past are gathering, and with them, a war that will change everything. Cithrin bel Sarcour founded a powerful bank on stolen wealth, forged papers, and ready blades. Now every move she makes is observed, recorded, and controlled. Mindboggling Change of Narrator from Original
Not sure why they would change and also redo the Original narration by one of the best Narrators in the business, John Keating. It's a great story with a mediocre narrator. It's unfortunate. I feel like Damian put some effort into mumbling through this and to make an excellent story boring. In any case, if you got the original Malice with Keating, I recommend you just get the book and read it so you are not so disappointed.

Excellent series and excellent narrator
’ve read all four book in the series and was sad to see it end. I felt like the characters were real- my friends, my fellow warriors. Over the course of the series, the characters you love the most evolve and become a part of you. The characters you hate become more detestable, and you just have to see what happens next. I could not stop listening. The actor who narrated the series is talented. I could tell which character was speaking based on his accents. And he didn’t overdo the female characters. His narration brought the books to life. I look forward to the next series by Gwynne.

A pretty good book 2 but starts to drag
Loved book one. It was amazing. Book 2 however is a bit of of bummer. All the “good guys/girls” are kidnapped and/or on the losing end of every encounter. Like the whole book is nothing but the baddies winning each chapter and each event and by the end it was like can our heroes catch even one break?
The main story is a long chase which by the end was starting to drag. I’m hoping Book 3 is much better,
The narration by Mr Lynch is spectacular and kept me engaged even though the story began to get tedious. May have also been a few too many battle scenes as well. By the end I was really getting bored with exploding body parts, weapons bursting through bodies, and repetitive melee battles.
