The City of Ilnaen is on fire. Dragons fill the skies. Traitors fill the streets.

Across millennia, The Order have stood as the guardians of the mortal realm. But four hundred years before Calen Bryer picked up a sword, a red moon rose over the continent of Epheria and the world changed forever.

There are those who believe The Order had lost its way. That it is corrupt, indulgent, and deceitful. That it has abandoned the oaths sworn so long ago.

In the city of Ilnaen, brothers and sisters turn upon each other, dragons war in fire and fury, and gods reach their hands into the world.

This is a night that will echo through all time. This is the fall of The Order. This is where it all began.

The Fall is the first novella set in the world of The Bound and The Broken. It takes place 400 years before the events of Of Blood and Fire.

Non-stop action fill this prequel. I would suggest actually reading book 1 first though, as the information has for more context in that order. Narrator, as expected, knocked the narration out of the park!

Audiobook Review 🎧: Narration:5/5⭐️

This is the first book I’ve read by Ryan Cahill, and let me tell you, if this is what I have to look forward to from him, then I am excited to read on. 😁

I was unsure of the suggested reading order of this series, but since this novella is based 400 years before the events of Blood and Fire, I figured this was a good place to start to give me some background info on where it all began. And it did not disappoint.

I was not expecting to be dropped right smack dab in the middle of the war from the moment the story began. The plot for the series was being set up, and the action was nonstop. And even though it’s hard to have enough time in a novella to connect with the characters, there were moments meant conjure emotion or to garner your sympathy.

Overall, after getting a small sample of Ryan Cahill’s work, I am eager to dive into the next book!
