Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease.

An Abundance of Information
The prevention methods offered in these two books, as my title mentions abundant. We all get set into patterns of eating, it sometimes is generational, your grandparents handed it down to your parents and so on, you get the picture. I agree with Dr. Sullivan's approach on the preventive side, being a health coach myself and getting my clients to understand their patterns and craving triggers is crucial to their success and attaining their goals. Should you be challenged with diabetes or high blood pressure? I highly recommend a listen and beautifully narrated by Pam.

Very Educational!
Overall, I thought this book was very educational! I learned a lot about what causes people to get diabetes and high blood pressure. For example, I had no idea that smoking can cause people to have diabetes so that was very interesting, I also learned a lot about how people with diabetes cope with it each day in terms of what treatments they have. This book can help people with diabetes and it can have a positive impact on them as well:)

Really comprehensive book
I was looking for a book like this because I have high blood pressure but had no idea why. I eat eggs for breakfast, chicken and salad for lunch and salmon and salad for dinner. This book helped me understand the interaction between insulin and blood sugar, and to focus on what I can change in my diet to achieve my goals of being diabetes-free. Thoroughly recommend.
