One day, six towers appear on Earth. Each one stands hundreds of stories tall, and are invulnerable to all attacks. At the base of each tower is a portal, welcoming in all who dare enter it. All sorts of magical monsters can be found inside the towers. Even treasure, magic and superhuman strength can be acquired. The problem is that the towers aren't a friendly place. Even worse, the towers sometimes release waves of monsters to attack Earth.

In the year 2083, there are only a hundred survivors. In one last attempt, they challenge the final floor without regard for their lives. By some miracle, they manage to beat the floor at the cost of their lives, leaving only one survivor. As a reward for clearing the tower, he is granted one wish. He decides to go back in time to before the towers arrived. His goal is simple: prevent humanity from being wiped out.

Now this is how a story is told

Honestly probably the best series I've read in awhile. It's up there with Hell Difficulty Tutorial for me

Great work but feels incomplete.

The Story is great and follows a nontraditional hero for these types. He isn't the one who deals the most damage or inspires people with his presence. He is a tank taking blows for his allies so they can best hurt the enemies. It is almost flawless for the first two books but the third felt very rushed in many ways, the ending while finishing a bit of the main meat of the story leaves a lot of stuff undone. I also would barely call this litRPG while there are stats and those elements for the most part outside of damage number they are incredibly (and to one like me disappointingly) rare. This may not be a problem for most readers/listeners but I like the level ups, stat sheets, and rising of numbers that are usually found in these type of stories. Also the journey through the tower is often glazed over and not really going into depth. I would recommend this story to anyone as a story but I am afraid that I would not in good conscious recommend it for die hard litRPG or tower climber fans.

really decent story

so normally I usually start ratings in the middle in three stars and for the first 3 hours of the story I was about to I would even say less than that but it very very quickly becomes much better in my opinion there are a lot of negative reviews but I really recommend not listening to them a couple points that I think will help for my review

in the beginning the beginning of the story starts out like every other tower regression story so if you're familiar with the basics it'll feel very familiar

so I'll start with the things that I really like and then move on to the things that frustrate me I really like the beginning of the story and I really like when the story starts in my opinion for real after he actually visits his father The character development the world building The characters you experience The skills and equipment the abilities he's gotten thus far it's just honestly a decent story

couple things I don't like it takes about 3 or 4 hours to get to the good parts if you buy the entire series then it's not too much of issue at first I was frustrated because the first 3 hours all he does is grind the first five levels of the tower you don't hear anything about the world outside he doesn't talk about his family and it feels like he doesn't really even care about humanity Even though he's supposed to be saving humanity he even goes 3 weeks without even so much as speaking to another person it honestly just feels disappointing and I was getting dejected but after that 3 hour. he exits the tower and starts doing things visits his father and so on then it starts to really take off like a meteor in my opinion characters skills abilities world building personal relationships everything it's just that 3-hour period you have to push through

Great Story!

What did I dislike? That the book is over! Now what do I do?! I'll be sharing it with my friends for sure.

Surprising Kermit the Frog Cameo

Overall decent, The world building was interesting and I did find it surprising to include a character from the Muppets. Kermit isn't mentioned by name and you probably wouldn't notice it in any other format apart from the audio book.

I don't think it's a spoiler, but keep your ears open.

its sterile, there's no emotion or feeling.

When you read a book you want to feel with the person's feeling. You want to be part of the book you want to understand why they do what they're doing, and not just the main character you need to understand y v other people around them do what they do also.
This book is very dry very limited character development limited world development, limited, everything.

Bob walked down the street. Bob stopped at a fruit stand. bob bought a apple from the vendor. the vendors said, "hey, that will be two bits".Bob's handed him two bits.
Bob said goodbye and walked away.

Bob walked down the busy street of the bizarre. the voices of the merchants shouted over the crowds, trying to get attention for the wears. people jostled each other as they move from vendor the vendor Looking for the best deals. this particular district catered exclusively to adventurers.
You could find armor weapons & potions of all types in this district, you just had to look. a vendor to the right shouted at Bob about his delicious bread apples. he boasted his apples would increase Your stamina by three points with just one bit.
Bob had some extra coins, so he decided to stop and get one...
im not a writer but, you get the idea. this story jumps from subject to subject without any depth or character development.

Excellent LitRPG

Great details, good story, plenty of twists, it draws you in and does not leave you disappointed.

Outstanding Series

Great action, character development and world building. Excellent narration. The regression plotline (going back in time as a returner to better prepare for the final battle that opens the story) is one of my personal favorite themes. And the author Cameron Milan presents one of the best arcs of the subgenre.

A strong will surpassing reality

The narrators performance was entertaining spot on for the entire trilogy. I enjoy Steve Campbell's work. Book 1 and 2 had a solid story progression. Book three was enjoyable, but I would have preferred it broken down into 2 books and expanded on more since it was so fun fallowing them up the tower. Subverting the MCs expectations was a good call for book 3, but I still.would have appreciated more. that is why I gave the story 4 and not 5 stars.
