a realistic hero and a dog

toooooooooooooooo many choices for everything. just pick 3 or 4 and move on dude, it just gets boring when you compare ten darn skills or classes.

I really really enjoyed this book. Let me just say that first.

Am I the only one who can’t stand The MC attitude?
He complains about everything and everyone.
It’s literally hours of the MC being annoyed…

I really hope the second book corrects this. It’s really painful to listen to sometimes…

This is a great 1st book!!!

The MC is more pragmatic and less idealistic than most MCs in this genre ...but almost too much, like intentionally written to have a borderline psychosis that comes across really well. Like he's an unpredictable character, which makes him interesting.
I liked a lot of choices made by the author, he definitely had some original ideas. I especially like the direction he went with mana manipulation abilities ...very cool stuff.
That said the story felt a little thin. I think outside of the MC's progression there is not much story to sink ur teeth into.
The narrator did a good job, but whether it was his style or just the source material there were times when he got a little monotone.
Regardless, I enjoyed the book and I think I'll check out book 2 whenever that comes out.
It's well worth the credit ;)

It’s a fantastic start

First half of the book the MC is very unlikeable from a human perspective. He is a solid MC though
Second half of the book he doesn’t soften but is more in control of his self I would say. Really pleased I picked this one up
