this is the first time I've come across this author and obviously then it's the first book that I've enjoyed by him. I tend to take it easy on the first book of a new series but I didn't really feel like I needed to do that with this one when leaving a review. if you're a fan of Primal hunter or Defiance full then this book should be right up your alley. the notable separation is that the author appears to be really into or I should say is writing a character that's really into anime and manga. I'm not necessarily a fan of that stuff so pretty much all the references, of which there are a lot, went right over my head. for the most part I just ignored it and enjoyed the story as if it wasn't even there. the narrator said a fantastic job. I will note though that because I listen to the playback at a faster speed that the construct companion with the super high voice made it a little difficult at times to understand what was being said. so I slowed it down a little bit and since the book is available through the Kindle unlimited program I was able to just able to follow along there. as of the time of this review the second book is out and available in ebook format only. with that a round of applause for everybody who had a hand and bringing this book to us, the audiobook listeners.

yeah, I can recommend this one

I liked it for the most part. The MC had lots of moments where he references stuff, but he does it way to much. I get it, I like anime and all that too, but it get taken way to far with the MC. I liked it at first but the author beat it like a dead horse and now it's just irritating.

Good book but...

Good book, only complaint is that they went a little too hard on all the references and quotes.

Pretty Good

Embrace the cringe, if you like Primal Hunter and anime odds are you'll like this.

if Jake from Primal Hunter was a WEEB

The story development is really good. Oh My God, the jokes and references I and never switched so quickly between laughter and looking at my phone like its an idiot. I absolutely live this narrator.

This is a new favorite and im not even done yet.

usually I tend to hate when too many references are made in lit RPG books so at first I was a little put off by it but honestly this book does it in such a way that I thoroughly enjoyed it. his little companion that he gets is the type of character most people would not enjoy but somehow she has done well in this

The only complaint I might have for this book is towards the end with him saving the handful of people he did and finding one of them had the ability to heal his arm it was honestly completely irrational how they treated him. like the fact that she refused to heal his arm was insufferable. I can't think of any single person I know that would have been a side character in that story finding out that the dude protecting all of them keeping them all alive was doing so handicapped all because one person in the camp refused to provide the only assistance she actually was good for.

grew on me

I loved all the nods to anime and other medieas, but the one negative would have to be the high pitched screaming from the construct, gave me a headache.

Nice tie ins

the only thing I disliked is that everything moves so fast. I think the whole book took place over about a week. doesn't leave much time for world building.

the fast pace

There is much to like about this story. I really like the main character. The powers this universe has and also the story. Some criticism is the main character is a little dumb at very inopportune times and it gets a little tiresome. Listening to that at times. I think my main issue with the story though is how stupid most of the side characters act. I just don't buy that a group of people trapped in a cage by muderous goblins, getting raped, getting tortured, and forced to fight to the death are going to question whether or not somebody coming to save them is doing it with the right intentions and wouls need MC to spend time convincingthem to leave that situation at all. And that same theme is common throughout the story. Main character is always saving people from a horrible fate and people are being saved immediately display completely ungrateful expectations. The magical contract the MC enters into with the group of nine random people that he recently met and doesn't even know is completely is insane. It is something that nobody, even a massive idiot, would do and has no good reason to exist other than to further some weird plot device by the author

Interesting Read.
