Bleak ending

The ending feels like it’s leading to the creation of the Divine dungeon series. Dekota is a solid writer and I appreciate their skills, pretty good character development, world building is better in their other series but I’m happy it ended unlike other LitRpg’s that has a yearly release cycle.

Absolutely loved this trilogy. It needs more recognition because this might be one of the best litrpg’s I’ve listened to!

When the author hates the reader

While The Deepest Dungeon Trilogy offers an intriguing concept and a promising world, it ultimately collapses under the weight of its own moral confusion and lack of closure. The author’s moral compass — or perhaps intentional absence of one bleeds through every page, shaping characters whose actions often feel hollow or self-serving. The cast is largely unlikable, not because they are flawed, but because they seem devoid of genuine growth or redemption. The true villain, Martin, manipulates everyone around him to achieve his own ends, embodying the corruption and emptiness that the series seems to glorify rather than condemn.
Plot holes run deep, and by the time readers reach the conclusion, they’re left with the unsettling sense that the author has intentionally denied them closure as if he holds his audience in disdain. Instead of a satisfying resolution, the story fades into ambiguity, rewarding neither investment nor curiosity. In the end, The Deepest Dungeon Trilogy is a fascinating idea squandered by an author unwilling to offer meaning, morality, or a true ending.

Great Series

I loved everything about this series. Well written, plenty of action, an overall fun read. Cover art kicks ass too. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life. Not too chunky on game stats, which I liked.

I don't know if I will ever re-listen to it, but I had fun. the narrator was easy to listen to
