Misleading Cover

This story is kiddish. Childish even.
Main characters are 14 to 15 years old but act much younger (more like 10 or 12 year olds) at times while other times much more mature (someone in their late 20s) than a 15 year olds would.

As long as you treat the story as meant for kids who have little life experience about kids acting like adults far beyond their age at times in an adventure of their lifetime, it's fine.

As such, romance is essentially puppy love teases and their relationship is "kid friendly".

Also, because of this mature status limitation, our heroes and heroines maintain that squeaky clean and innocent demeanour even after a betrayal and tragedy which for any adult listening / reading this book will have suspend their disbelief a little more than necessary.

And all situations can never truly go into adult maturity content that includes and not limited to physical relationships and or situations where an adult would have different and more "realistic" outcomes.

As is, relationships are instead presented with a much more innocent alternative that is more or less locked in the puppy love stage.
As for conflicts, when the story constantly presents you with situations that would have an adult come to a more mature and darker conclusions and yes, that includes even situations where revenge and retaliation would be called for, on multiple occasions, the story defaults to more "childish" responses without repercussions.
Again due to the age of the group involved and because our MCs are more or less children and the story seems to be on and off targeting very young adults just leaving childhood.

The one exception was the Encounter with Carmilla. And yes, that was pretty mature and a good way how that situation was resolved.

Having said that. The story is entertaining enough.

Absolutely Hillarous

This serious was not only really funny but it was really clean too. Often times modern day they toss a lot of sex into it, and this series manages to avoid that, and is a great listen.

New take on magic

It was pretty good. kinda ends in a cliff hanger. I feel like there was more they could flush out.

MC is so bad I quit listening after 1 1/2 books

Melvin is basically a self important idiot. Just a no common sense person with very little self awareness. the world built seems very cool and some people might be ok with his character but I'm not. getting the whole series for 1 token is a good deal. if you need to really like the MC to enjoy stories this is an iffy choice in my opinion.

Good Value

A good saga of fantasy and well worth the single credit I spent. I'd recommend it to any who have the credit to check out this work.

Entertaining story, worth the credit

“System School” offers great value for money, providing 67.5 hours of entertainment for just one Audible credit. The story blends traditional video game RPG elements with the magical world of Harry Potter, creating a unique and engaging experience. There’s an overarching love theme that remains tasteful and avoids the raunchiness found in some other stories.

While the maturity and responsibilities of the young characters can sometimes stretch believability, the narrative remains compelling. The characters show significant growth throughout the series without delving too deeply into stat point allocation, which keeps the story accessible and enjoyable. Overall, “System School” is well worth the Audible credit for fans of LitRPG and magical adventures.

Dumb MC and bad action.

So, I hesitate to call these books bad, cause they’re not, but the MC and the action in the these books are just terrible.

Let’s start with the MC, Melvin is the most uncreative, unobservant, and dumb MC that I’ve had the displeasure of reading/listening about, he doesn’t pick up on obvious hints throughout the books, all the fights he’s in consists of him darting in attacking once or twice then spacing out until someone yells his name forcing him to use some undiscovered random advantage/skill the author has decided to give to him, speaking of these powers, he has all of these unique and interesting powers that he refuses to explore in a creative way. All the characters around him have offensive options but in all of the books I’ve listened to so far he’s only developed 1 offensive option.

The amount of foreshadowing in these books is kinda exhausting at times, and yet Melvin only seems to pick up on it 3 out 10 times. It got to the point that I just assumed that any action or problem they had the author would come up with some contrived way to pull the MC out of it.

The action as I said before is just Melvin spacing out then the author making some random sht up. I’d also like to say that if you have an issue with young characters this book is centered around 15/16 year olds, now ordinarily when characters are young I don’t mind as long as the books are good, but I swear the author hasn’t spoken to a teenagers before because these characters act like they are 12 years old, it’s infuriating at times.

Overall if you ignore the MC’s idiocy and the action these books are not to bad, but don’t expect a well written experience.

the MC is a complete Simp

Melvin does anything, his fault. Callie does anything wrong, Melvin apologizes for her accepts punishment from her basically. repeatedly repeatedly, then rinse and repeat. story was okay but the constant simping ruined the books.

This is a story of babys

from my point of view this is a story of two kids that think they know everything and are unbeatable and do what they want base on emotions. Then turn around and cry that no one will clean up after them, blaming everyone but themselves. The MC is mostly concerned with having sex but doesn't really want to get married trusting his spouse or have a baby. He is shallow and plays the victim at every turn and a mushajness. I want to like this story but it makes me mad the more I lesson because as long as it not the girl he's chasing people can die and suffer but, if it her the world can burn while he blame everyone but himself.
