From the Sunday Times bestselling author of Friend Request comes an electrifying new thriller about friendship, betrayal and revenge.

Sasha North has gone missing.

Everyone says she's run away, but I know better. We've been best friends since we were teenagers, since Sasha swept into the neighbourhood and brought colour to my life. Until a brutal attack changed both our lives forever.

I know what happened that night. I know who wants revenge.

And if Sasha has been taken, does that mean I'm next?

When is it going to Happen!

I found this book so Slow to get Started the Performance was good
but the Story was Lacking There was some Action eventually at the End
The Obsession with the Friend kind of didn’t go anywhere it was like when you Light a Damp firework that spits and fizzes But doesn’t Take Off.
The Narcissistic meanderings of the Mother Ended abruptly with very little explanation. The trip to the Attic could of been used better in building Suspense,For me the Suspense was lacking, I was left wondering if it was me,have I lost the ability to empathise or relate however isn’t that the writers responsibility to make the Characters relatable.

Was a good book

Was a little disappointed as I chose this after friend request. It was a good story but not as good in respect of twists and turns. Still very good in respect of the plot and the ending! Would recommend it.

Another tale with Twists along the way

I bought this book as I really enjoyed friend request. I enjoyed this book although it was a little repetitive and I did feel like skipping a few chapters. The author does well to build a mental picture. Wasn’t a fan of one of the narrators who read out The mums voice it did tend to wear on you. But I still enjoyed the book none the less.

Loved this book, my second Laura Marshall novel! Good plot twists and sensitively touches on difficult subjects, rape and abuse. Couldn't stop listening, looking forward to next book by Marshall!!

ADDICTIVE! Excellent narration by Imogen Wilde

I had recently read "Friend Request" (also by Laura Marshall) and was looking for something else to start - not necessarily by the same author but this came up and, as I enjoyed "Friend Request", I thought I'd give it ago, so bought the ebook and got the audio on the Amazon offer.

The audio book, with the mesmerising voice of Imogen Wilde, who I felt played the character perfectly and part of the reason I enjoyed the story so much, was so good that I never even got to read the ebook. Headphones on and closed off to the world, I sailed through it in a single weekend.

It does flit back and forth in time but I found it easy to follow, and the story had plenty of twists and turns that kept me wanting more.

I highly recommend this audio book and will now be on the lookout for the next book by one of my new favourite authors, and will check out anything else narrated by Imogen Wilde.

truly awful

This story revolves around a group of 16 year old school girls, their social and love lives, plus one male friend who is up in court on a rape charge. (The book is aimed at teenage girls I think - not me, a retired male.)

The narrator assigned to Ellen is awful. She gives Ellen an immature, slightly baby voice inappropriate for a 16 yo girl. Making things worse, the author has the 16 year old girls speaking in rather mature, flowery language that doesn't sit well with an Estuary accent. Ellen still has the same voice at age 27. Unfortunately most of the book is from Ellen's perspective, so throughout, I found the narrator's voice distracting from the story.

The author tries to give the story some suspense by jumping back and forth randomly between time periods in a haphazard way which just makes the story difficult to follow. This is not the same as gripping edge-of-your-seat Hitchcock style suspense.

I won't give away any spoilers, but I found the story itself unsatisfactory and implausible. I just didn't like it.
