Story
Private investigator Wyatt West finds his job a little tedious most days, but that changes when he meets a bewitching blonde florist who needs a favor in the way of a wedding date. There's definitely something magical about her, but little does he know just how correct that first impression is. Single mom Marigold Williams finds herself instantly attracted to Wyatt but doesn't dare tell this handsome human that she's a witch and things in Nocturne Falls are a little spookier than he suspects. He’s just a nice guy who’s offered to be her plus one.

Publisher's Summary
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all. Death is what grim reaper Lucien Dupree knows best. Or rather, he did until his reaping powers became tragically unreliable. Now he’s living in a self-imposed exile to keep humanity safe. Sure, it’s a lonely existence, but it’s the best thing for everyone. Except him.
Retired genie, Imari Zephara, has found her happy place in Nocturne Falls. Well, as happy as she can be considering the alternative returning home would bring her. Then a dark force rears its ugly head and throws her life into turmoil. Suddenly the only way to save herself is to join forces with death, who turns out to be a pretty amazing guy.
But Lucien’s defective powers might not be enough to overcome centuries of jinn tradition, meaning Imari’s life would no longer be her own. All he wants is to give her the chance to choose her own future. Hopefully, one that includes him. What more could a guy a wish for?

Another Winner
Another great expansion of Nocturne Falls characters and associated paranormal realms. I also enjoyed yet another romantic mixture of paranormal beings. If only the real world was as open minded. Ms Painters explainations of abilities associated with each type of paranormal being is beyond creative and enjoyable. I hope this series goes on forever. If Nocturne Falls was a real place it would be on the top of my list of places to go as a human tourist.

I wish for fish...
Okay Seuss, not Painter, but either way it’s a wish. I was a little confusing in the beginning because in Accidental Wife Greyson mentions Lucian in a way that I expected him to be older, not a hunky youngish reaper, as for Imari, I was a little put off by Harrison’s accent he used for her, I liked her independent spirit and her knowledge of cars. I loved Hattie, I know everyone would. All in all I liked this a lot better than Accidental Wife, but so far I’ve not been truly disappointed to any of Painter’s books.

As always, Kristen Painter brings it. This book is no exception. And as always, B J Harrison brings the characters to life. He is a fantastic narrator. This book is about Lucien, a retired reaper and he meets his love in a Genie. Even though each had their on problems, things have a way of working out.

One of my favorite characters!!
Finally! I have made it to Lucien’s story!! The Reaper Rescues the Genie is book 9 of the Nocturne Falls series. I originally saw Lucien in the Jayne Frost spin-off series and was really interested in hearing more about him so I was really happy to get to this book.
This book is almost non-stop action. I loved it. A lot of this series is about Vampires and Shifters so it was really cool to see something a little different this time. Lucien is a Reaper and Imari is Jinn and a Genie. Learning about both of their ways of life and customs was interesting.
I love this series and I recommend it along with the spin-off series, Jayne Frost.
The narrator is the same for the entire Nocturne Falls series. He does a great job!

Great Characters in the Book
One of my favorites.
I love Lucien, the grim reaper and I love Imari, the Gin.
They are both well written, a bit different than some of the other books.
Hattie Dupree is the most adorable character of all.
I’ve already listened to this a second time. Just a happy pleasure of a book.

Reclusive Reaper and Retired Genie Find Love
I was so excited to see a story of Lucien Dupree (Introduced in Miss Frost Saves The Sandman) and Imari Zephara (Introduced in Miss Frost Ices The Imp). Both of these characters interested me when I first read about them and was thrilled to see them get to be fleshed out (pun slightly intended) in this longer story. I appreciated getting more details in the story about both of their conditions and situations and seeing them team up together while navigating their own personal histories and burdens and to build an affection for one another in the process. Again we have some wonderful side characters including the ghost grandma that hangs out with Lucien. We again are taken in this tale to another world outside Nocturne Falls and you face off several tense, though short lived, conflicts that this couple will overcome. This is a tale of two characters that because of their circumstances have in some ways lost hope but seem to find hope renewed in the romance with each other. Light, fast paced, happy ending, with light humor and PG romance this is another solid entry to the Nocturne Falls series. Fans of the books will not be disappointed and B.J. Harrison keeps up his pace with providing wonderful life to these characters.

Another great story from this universe
These are great stories, set in a quirky universe where vampires, werewolves and genies are normal and live their lives in the town called Nocturn Falls. This time we meet a reaper who has problems, we also meet a genie with problems of their own. This is the story of how they help each other and live happily ever after.

So much better than I was expecting!
It seems to be the running trend with this series that if I'm kind of lukewarm about the blurb I thoroughly enjoy the story and if I'm excited about the blurb I find the story lacking.
This is definitely the former!
The creative use of lore in these stories continues to entertain me. I'm glad there was an explanation about Korras origins too. I was bugging me for quite a while.
