In this middle-grade fantasy, perfect for fans of Nevermoor and The School for Good and Evil series, humor, heart, and a symphony of magic take center stage.

Amelia Jones has always dreamed of attending the Mystwick School of Musicraft, where the world’s most promising musicians learn to create musical magic. Unfortunately, Amelia botches her audition and her dream comes crashing down—until the school agrees to give her a second chance. Amelia vows to do whatever it takes to make her dream come true.

However, between a teacher who really dislikes her and a roommate who wants to see her expelled, Amelia has her hands full. On top of that, supernatural powers are threatening Mystwick, and Amelia might be the only person who can save the school…but only if she can remain true to herself. The combination of Jessica Khoury’s storytelling mastery, the highly-nuanced performance by award-winning narrator Suzy Jackson, and the songs, musical interludes, and original compositions included in this audio (all performed by the NJSO Youth Orchestras) makes it a treat for all fans of the fantasy genre.

Amazing example of how audiobooks should be

If you like music and magic this is a wonderful audiobook to try. It really shows how an audio format can enhance the written word and make it beautiful. I cried through the entire climax of this book and I'm about to see if this author has written more. I don't regret this being one of my free Audible Original choices.

So good I’m bummed out I have to wait for the next one

This caught me by surprise. I just happened onto this book as a freebie from Amazon. I will definitely purchase every book that is created in the series. Having the music interjected into the narration was brilliant. I even teared up. I’m a grown man and young adult stuff is not my thing but this is just something special. This Author is the next JK Rawlings. The movie rights on this will be epic.

What a cute story!

Loved the premise of music being magic. It’s a kid’s story so some of the school drama and plot need to be taken in with that in mind. But I found it really enjoyable! I loved the way they added the musical parts in the background. I generally do NOT like when audiobooks do this as it adds no value, however here it really made sense and was very well done!

Better than expected

I'm a musician, and this was free, so I thought give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised to get sucked in to the storyline and the well written character development. Some of the plot twists were fairly obvious, but otherwise very creative, well written, and well performed. It left me wanting a sequel, and a movie.

Truly magical

Truly magical, a symphony of a story. I'm sad it is over. I hope there will be more. The author chose a clever twist of music and magic and made an original work.

I highly recommend this book if you like magic and you like smart characters you will love this story.

It's like a musicians version of Harry Potter

Very good story, the audiobook was very well performed. If you are a Harry Potter fan, it was like reading the first book for the first time and being submerged into an interesting world of magic.

Unexpected gem

I usually do not like any type of music added to audiobooks. The music I encountered in audiobooks so far was poor quality and distracting. This is SO different here. The music is an integral and wonderful part of the story and even brought me to tears once. I was sucked into the book within the first 10 minutes and finished it the same day. The narrator is superb and the story uplifting and encouraging. This is a book I would not even attempt to read after having listened to the audiobook, as the performance adds more than my imagination while reading ever could. This is by far my most favorite of the audible originals!

LOVED IT!!!

I absolutely LOVED listening to this book!!! I'm 32 years old and a truck driver and I myself got wrapped up in the story AND the music. I loved the song that Amelia composed when she was in the treehouse and again finishing it at the end of this story. BEAUTIFUL! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL JOB WITH IT ALL!! I truly hope this becomes a show because I will definitely watch it!! 💓💓💓💓💓

Im normally really fussy about audio books because I use audiobooks to help me get to sleep and if I don’t sleep well I do badly at school. But I loved this book and I recommend it for mane 7+? Im not really sure there is a bit of a scary bit… NO SPOILERS

Just beautiful!

I know it’s a kids story, but this was amazing. Having gotten up a child of a music teacher and someone who treats music in the same way at the story does this just made sense, going to find the next one and recommend this to my mum!

Delightful!

I really enjoyed how music was used behind the narration to show what songs were being played!
The story was intriguing and threw my brain for a bit of a twist at some points, but was definitely good!
The narrarator along with the author really managed to get me attached to the characters, which I absolutely loved!
