Publisher's summary

This is a very, very sad story. The characters suffer terrible tragedies. People die in unspeakable ways. Only a truly horrible person would be amused by their misfortune.

Nevertheless, it is kind of funny.

My advice is that you listen to this all by yourself. People can be judgy.

If you’re a fan of A Series of Unfortunate Events, Edward Scissorhands, or the darkest bits of Roald Dahl, the Weirdie triplets - Barnacle, Garlic, and Melancholy - will feel like old friends. After being left behind when the entire estate of Deadeye Manor is packed up for a doomed vacation cruise, the triplets have to learn how to fend for themselves. (When a staff of 200 servants has taken care of your every need, even brushing your own teeth is a mountainous task.) From their time at the Our Lady of the Perpetual Side-Eye Orphanage to their adoptive home on picture-perfect Sunshine Circle, the Weirdies have a lot to learn about the world...but, at least, they have each other.

Hysterical and dark!!!

This is hilarious, dark, and goes places you never thought it would. Kate Winslet is the perfect person to narrate this troubling yet absolutely hysterical story! I kept thinking of it like a Tim Burton movie.

Fantastic! Made my Day! Hillariously Funny!

This story line was fantastic. It's a story of Love and Family. The Weirdie kids found someone to love them and Emily found love with the children. Kate is an awesome narrator. It is super funny. I tried not to laugh too loud!

Very funny and dark—delightful!

This is a mashup between “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “The Willoughbys,” and “The Addams Family.” In fact, I wish it deviated more from the style and plots of those works, but the quality of the story makes up for it. Like another reviewer said, it’s perfect for fans of Roald Dahl. The writing is clever, and Kate Winslet does an outstanding job as narrator. It took me a couple chapters to get into it, but once in, I was hooked. Just as funny for adults (and maybe more so)!

Excellent!

This is a great story for a laugh. Michael Buckley writes a hilarious story about the Weirdies, triplets who cause mayhem, terror, and occasional instances of insanity.

Kate Winslet does a great job of narrating and voicing the various characters. Her voices for the Weirdies are unique and add to the humor of the story.

It's so Weird

Short read but very enjoyable.
The narrator Kate Winslet did an amazing job with the characters, I really like what she did.

This is an interesting book, it dark but funny. It does remind me of Roald Dahl books that has that thing that you know it's for kids but their is a thin line between kid friendly and dangerous. These characters could easily be related to the Addams Family. I had a good time just imagining these kids.

The story does run smoothly and its comical which I like and creepy. I could read a whole book on this family.

This needs to be made into a movie!!

I loved everything about this book! The story would make a great plot for an animation movie. Kate Winslet did an awesome job as a narrator.

A weird (in a good way) story

I had to start it and restart it a couple of times—it was a bit hard to sort of “get into it.” However, it is so unique, with a super weird humor but funny anyways, and a captivating narration. Really enjoyed it.
