Great story!

Some predictability but kept you interested wondering what happened. And just when you think it's over and wrapped up in a bow, it's not!

amazing

It's been a very long time since I have read a book that kept me on the edge until the very end. The author weaves a tale that leaves very few clues to how the story will end. There was very little predictability here, and that makes for a phenomenal experience.

Thought I had it all figured out but had a great twist at the end!

Don"t read this book if...

...if you're not ready to be thoroughly engaged with each and every chapter. The main character is richly textured, developing as you turn the pages from the wife in a marriage that has faltered over an eight year marriage to a widow who discovers at her husband's death that he had a mistress. And so much more. Love, loss, solace, murder - SO much more. Chapters scattered throughout the book that are told by the three secondary characters, add so much to the weave of the plot rather than subtract. I listened to the audio version and found myself taking the long way home and then carrying my Kindle from room to room as I did the chores - even with headphones on while vacuuming.

Heartwrenching

Such a poignant story of 2 people trying to come to terms with not only the loss of loved ones but the affair they may have caused the loss. But watch out, this story takes a crazy turn with a plot twist that you don't expect. Fantastic story.

Very Compelling book

Though I wouldn’t say the story kept me wondering all the way through, I give it five stars because of how well it would s written and the great performance of the reader.

Narrator did an amazing job!

It was a great book but it squeezed way to much into the last 25 minutes. It seemed as though the book just trailed along and then bam! they throw in all the twists and turns right at the end.

good story of romance . not a thriller .

I liked it although I expected more of a suspense /mystery thriller and it was 75% a love gone wrong tale. enjoyed it anyway.

Good story with a twist at the end.

Part romance, part suspense. Definitely not one with a HEA finish, but did keep me listening intently till the very end!

No such thing as a Good Widow

Jacks Morales is a widow. This doesn’t give anything away since it’s in the title. She is not one of my favorite characters or someone I was rooting for. I did like the way the story unfolds from her perspective both before and after. It was even more interesting with the added perspective of another character that I don’t want to name because I don’t want to spoil this for anyone. Although I really didn’t care for any of the characters, the premise was interesting enough for me to want to finish it to find out the conclusion.
