Straight Up Fluff

If you're looking for something with deep characters and an intriguing plot, then this is not for you. If you want something light and breezy and kind of annoying then this is right up your alley.

Shallow people, shallow story

I rarely give up on a book before I've finished it, but I couldn't make it through this one. Shallow female characters who only care about clothes, exercise and "putting a baby in there". (Who actually says they want a "baby in there"?) These are characters out of a bad reality tv show, not real women. (At least not real thinking women.) I'd rather wait until Ann Patchett or Anne Tyler write more books than read this.

Meh, not awful, but not a fave...

This book had such potential, but there were certain very cheesy elements, especially the way in which the women revisited their 40th year. Also, while it did make me think about choices and the ramifications of them, there were just times in this book when the characters were unbelievably annoying.

I think this could easily qualify as a fluffy beach read if you're in need of that type reading.

Wish I Could Return It

I've had this title in my library for a couple years. I finally decided to listen to it when I ran out of credits and couldn't get anything new. It was torture getting through it. I couldn't connect with any of the characters so I stopped halfway through and skipped to the end. The most emotion that I felt while listening to this book was discovering that the most selfish character in the book was really the only one who got her happy ending (at the expense of other good people).

I like stories with a fantasy type element. I had just read multiple Cecelia Ahern books and loved them. But when I read books like these, I expect it to be an escape. This book was just depressing. There wasn't even any kind of comic relief. I kind of enjoyed the Status of All Things, but after this one, I'm a little afraid to start Your Perfect Life (which has also been in my library for a while). I think I'll just buy more credits.

Hard to stop and hard to finish.

This story was such a good lesson. It was hard because of the pain we can cause when we hurt our loved ones. But then so great on redemption and forgiveness. I wanted to stop sometimes because of the pain. I could feel it. But I had to finish for redemption. Thank goodness for second chances.

Great book

I really enjoyed listening to this one. The story is well written and the performance was great.

Thoughts

I found this book very thought provoking. Didn't like that it made it sound like a kid couldn't be happy without two patents. I did and my kids do but I know that you can be a great kid and adult with a single parent! It had lots of good thoughts too. You don't have to have kids to be happy😁 And that you can work out marital problems if you both want to😉

Entertaining

The story was a nice escape. Reading went a bit slow at times, but overall enjoyable

Do you like repetition?

I felt like there were a lot of feelings and thoughts that repeated themselves frequently throughout the book. It got pretty annoying by the end. The plot is painfully lame. The characters are not in any way endearing. If you need to burn a credit, I'm sure there are worse choices, but I wouldn't recommend spending actual money on this book.
