An excellent examination of mental illness
The mystery is great, but what really sets this novel apart is how well it takes you into the subtleties of mental illness. How we cover it up, how we cope, and how subtle the descent can be. It’s so subtly woven and expertly told. An excellent study of the human character. Highly recommend!

OMG I LOVED IT
it's been such a long time since I had a book that made me want to not ever put it down! The acting was amazing, the story was so good, it kept me guessing until the very end and I wanted more. and I wanted more. I also loved having a book with so many female characters that were well-developed

super-fun and engrossing!
I almost never listen to audiobooks or read thrillers, but I'm so glad I changed things up a bit and listened to this one. I was sort of intimidated by the prospect of 10 hours' worth of material to listen to, but it went by so quickly! The characters are fully fleshed-out with interesting arcs and the plot is full of twists and turns. If you happen to live in Austin, it's also fun to read about the story unfolding in real places around the city. I also thoroughly enjoyed the narration. All in all, a really impressive first novel!

Great debut novel... I highly recommend!
Masterfully created story that leaves the reader never quite sure of the outcome until the very end. I found myself sure it would end one way, only to change my mind during the following chapter - that happened several times! Characters are likable and well-developed.

All through this book, I kept trying to guess what happened. I found each time I guessed, I was wrong. The author was excellent at creating such a plot. First book in awhile that I have gotten wrong. Truly enjoyable.

Big twist at the end
At first, I thought the book moved very slowly, and I didn’t like jumping from character to character, but I see that was necessary. I really thought I had figured out the ending about two thirds of the way through, but was I ever wrong! This is a really good read and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

A Twisty Story
This is a great story, not the usual "cookie cutter" type story. It's unusual with lots of suspense. The publisher's summary provides a very good synopsis and I won't try to add to it. A good entertaining story. The narrators are excellent. I Recommend.
