First of all, I adore this book series. Right from the beginning. Having said that: Chaol is not my favorite character by any means. He's blindly loyal, broods too much, and has made some really bad decisions...which is exactly why we needed this book. I want to go right back to where we left Aelin, but the fact is that this book tied several pieces of information together. We learned so much new information as well, and Chaol got a lot of personal redemption. He's still not my favorite character, but I really like Yrene. We got a ton of character development out of Nezrin, which was needed.
In the end, this will not be anyone's favorite book of the series, but it is a necessary part of the whole.

First of all, Chaol is my least favorite character in the Throne of Glass series (which is one of my all time favorites) so I wasn't thrilled to get into a whole book about him. That said, there was quite a bit revealed that will be necessary to the next book in the series. I enjoyed the Nesryn and the Prince story line and even the Chaol and Irene story line.
This book lacked the excitement of the others. I feel like these stories could have been part of the other books and didn't need to be so long but I'm glad I know what I know now and CANNOT wait for the next book due out in 2018.

I was not really excited about this novella, but OMG it was so amazing! I could not get enough of it! I was so excited to finish it but didn’t want it to end at the same time. Definitely a must read... or listen.

I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end! I started it very hesitantly because I hated Chaol, the main character because of his douchebag ways in previous books. (I'll add I loved him the first two, till he changed my mind in book three)
Anyways, the book starts out with Chaol and Nesryn (my least favorite character) going to the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica to see if he can be healed.
Yrene Towers who w've previously met briefly in the Assassin's Blade is featured as a main character as well. Both she and Chaol must work together, both having huge chips on their shoulders from past experiences, both in desperate need of healing. . .
This book gives us lots of information key to the series, and by the end of if I have to admit I have fully forgiven and fallen in love with Chaol once more.
The Throne of Glass series is one of my absolute favorite series of all time! And this book is essential and just as good as the others in my opinion! Aelin makes a teeny tiny appearance in the very last chapter, making the reader squeal and desperately want the next and final book in this amazing series NOW. Sadly, well have to be patient and wait until next year.
I HIGHLY recommend this book! I will write no more as I myself LOVE spoilers, so intern I'm a walking spoiler. lol Hopefully I've given just enough to make you realize if you care for the series at all you MUST buy this book!

I was reluctant to read this as I am not a fan of its main character, but have to say it was the best one yet!

It had a couple of golden nuggets pertaining to the overall story. And it gave us a couple more characters. Aside from that I felt like I was waiting for the story to get started.

When I first realized that this entire book was going to be about Chaol I was less than pleased. Tbh I was never invested in his character or story. I actually debated not finishing it in protest but when my child like tantrum lifted I decided to buck up and finish it. Descent story line but I feel like the unrealistic constant couple pair ups take up too much time and as much as I love alein i grew rather tired of her romantic exploits as well. There's 2 cheesy, predictable almost identically described romances going on in this book which i found to be very boring as a reader. I'm all for a good forbidden romance but maybe just 1 per series is a good rule of thumb. This book was ok but predictable and while it contained some good material it really just felt like a filler until the finale. Classic walking dead move😒

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Less romance and more action.
What could Sarah J. Maas have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The original character had depth and colour to his personality, which was lost in this book. Unfortunately this was below par.
What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Evans’s performance?
Her delivery which is becoming very drawn out.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Tower of Dawn?
Probably about half the book. Not much happened but it took forever to come to a conclusion
Any additional comments?
I think this was more of a romance than science fantasy. Which is not to my taste. However, others might prefer it that way.

Elizabeth Evans is one of my favourite audio narrators, and she really brings this whole series alive- and I think without these audio books I would've stopped reading this series by now.
I was worried to pick up this book as it focuses on Chaol (my personal least favourite character) and a bunch of new and side characters. I enjoyed it better than expected, but can't say I've grown fond of any of these characters despite spending 600+ pages / 20+ hours with them. The plot felt streamlined, a few important details and twists but otherwise a rather by the numbers Sarah J Maas book. All the character relations and developments were predictable, and she has so many characters that a lot of their personalities are starting to overlap and show troupes within her own books. With audio, and all the brothers and sisters with unusual fantasy names, it took a long time to learn characters names, or to even recognise who was who- I got through that mostly via context until near the end of the novel.
The best part of this book was Choals recovery process. I was worried how that would be handled, and I've heard mixed things about the representation (but mostly good things from own voices reviews that I saw browsing goodreads before I picked this up). I had one or two issues with it, but overall thought it was done well and was satisfied with how he ended up.
Overall, amazing narrator, entertaining, but nothing outstanding compared so some of Maas's other novels.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It was a slow starter but I think that was just because there was a lot of new characters to introduce but then it did get going and I liked it. I loved hearing more about the Valg and the history. I just can't wait for everything to come together in the final book. I just hope it will be as good and I think it will.
love this series so many twist and turns too keep you intreagued through out the story
Would you consider the audio edition of Tower of Dawn to be better than the print version?
This was great!! It tied up all the things that were questions for me from the book series. Love the bidding romance that forms!! Would definitely listen to the next one
Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Evans – was your favourite?
Well read by Elizabeth Evan!!
While not being the most action packed of this series, this has set the scene for the start of the war. The next book cant come soon enough!
This is a typical Sarah J Maas book full of exactly what you'd expect if you've read or listened to her previous books in this series. Lots of romance, and character development along with plenty of scene setting.
It's what I wanted and expected but not for everyone I imagine.
Make sure you read Assassins Blade before you read this book, it will make everything make a lot more sense in the scheme of things, I almost didn't and after finishing this I am so glad I took the time to read that first.
That out of the way, I would definitely recommend this book (and the whole series) to others and the performance was great also, it was easy to differentiate who was talking and they didn't all sound the same. It's well written and well performed over all and is deffenatly one of my favourite listens on audible with a good narrator that doesn't have a very annoying voice me.
I didn't overly like Chaol before this book but Sarah has managed to completely change my opinion of him. Yrene is such an amazing character and I love her no nonsense attitude when it came to healing. All of the royalty started out really unlikable but as you got to know everything going on and get to know them better they seem like more reasonable humans and Nesryn had some great character development too. All in all I ended up loving, or loving to hate most of the characters, all the twists and turns kept me guessing as to what would come next, and I loved it just as much as the rest of the books in the series so far even being sceptical in the beginning and putting off reading it.
I loved the romance sprinkled through the book, the development of feelings and the overlying story line was amazing as well.
I'm excited as to where this will go in the next book, so much happened during this book and it was all well written and amazing to read.
wasn't going to buy this book thought it was just a filler but thoroughly enjoyed it good story listened through the night
So the whole world is falling to pieces and with Chaol in Antica, it seems like nothing will go right. And it doesn't. Sarah has done it again, and I love this book to the end of the earth.
Yes Sarah J Maas!!!
Another incredible story- everything's tying together!! Can't wait for the next installment.
ahhh so bloodly good. whst a wonderful book. All these suprise and wonderful character development. i love your books Sarah j Mass. this book is brilliant I'm so glad i read/listen to it ( i was super sceptical at first)

I couldn't stop listening, laughing sobbing my eyes out.
The best in the series 😊
Another fantastic book in this series. I'm very much looking forward to the next and final one.
This part of the adventure, set in the southern continent, is as exciting and fun as the others, with excellent characters and well timed story and plot reveals.
I felt the narrator did a better job with this one too, although she does do a great job of the others there were times I wasn't keen on her delivery. I do love her voice.
What made the experience of listening to Tower of Dawn the most enjoyable?
Love this book! I was hesitant to read this so I got the audiobook and am soo glad I did
Compelling from start to finish. This series is my all time favourite. Brilliant. 5/5 :)
it started slow, but got interesting pretty quickly, as character relationships develop and unfurl... then it finishes strong bringing together Throne Of Glass' last novel and the next one to come, all together. It's intricate and intelligent, great read!
-this from someone who didn't find Lord Chaol Westfall very interesting and couldn't fathom how the story could be filled out and enjoyable... you showed me Miss. Mass!!!
Chaol and Nezryn were not my favourite characters so I was hesitant to start this book. However I am so glad I listened to it! can't wait for the next book.
I have enjoyed every minute of this series, but I particularly enjoyed this book so far. The characters development and imagining all the interesting creatures. I highly recommend this series and I can’t wait for the books to come.
good to have yet another strong female character added to the mix. The story was a great addition to series, even without the main protagonist featuring. perhaps refreshing because of that. positive turn around on disabilities at the end. I also liked that un magical humans got to be resillient, smart and talented.
