Publisher's summary

How far will you go when you have nothing left to lose?

When she lost her soul mate, Caleb, Eve felt like her world had ended. Trapped in the palace, forced to play the part of the happy, patriotic princess of The New America - and the blushing bride of her father's top adviser - Eve's whole life is a lie. The only thing that keeps her going is Caleb's memory, and the revolution he started.

Now, Eve is taking over where Caleb left off. With the help of Moss, an undercover subversive in the King's court, she plots to take down The New America, beginning with the capital, the City of Sand. Will Eve be able to bring about a new, free world when she's called upon to perform the ultimate act of rebellion - killing her father?

In Rise, Eve must choose who to leave behind, who to save, and who to fight as Anna Carey's epic tale of romance and sacrifice in the chilling dystopia of The New America comes to a stunning conclusion.

Probably one of the better books of the series

It’s kind of odd that they change the main character completely after the “death” of Caleb. She was never this clever or daring before, always has people
Dying around her tho. I wish she would have been more like this in the beginning, I probably wouldn’t have hated her. I honestly thought the Author was making a joke by having this weak main character.

Good read

Unlike many readers, I liked this last book in the series. I liked the role that Eve played in this book a little more than in Book 2. I thought that Eve did what needed to be done. In addition, it was nice to see that Charles was one of the good. The ending was a bit abrupt, but the best thing, the expected thing, did happen. Good series.

Fun book for all ages

Any additional comments?

My kids and I both listened to this series and liked it a lot. If you like Divergent you will like this too.

terrrible ending

What disappointed you about Rise?

the story in general, but the ending was the most disappointing

Has Rise turned you off from other books in this genre?

no way!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Tavia Gilbert?

yes she did a great job

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

boredom and disappointment

Any additional comments?

I read the first 2 books in the series and loved them. I had read the reviews for the 3rd and knew it had been poorly reviewed but I do not always agree with others reviewers and wanted to finish the series. They were right. I knew in advance some of the spoilers but the way it was revealed was terrible. I mean really terrible. It was like the author didn't know how to end it and just went ok lets do this and be done with it.

Sometimes it pays to try new things.

Any additional comments?

I was hesitant to purchase this audiobook series because, although there were rave reviews about the narrator, there seemed to be a lot of negative reviews about the story. I was hooked after the first book and really enjoyed both Eve and Once. Rise kept me entertained as well, but I grew concerned when I realized I only had one hour left and what seemed to me like a lot of story still to tell. I was right to be concerned. The last hour was a whirlwind that wrapped up a lot of loose pieces, but left me wanting more. I wish the author had taken her time with the final scenes. On the upside, however, she left me wishing for spinoff series focused on the lives of a few of the central characters. To me, that is the sign of a good series.

Disappointing

Eve (book 1) was pretty good. Once (book 2) was OK. Rise (book 3) was an utter disappointment.

The Eve trilogy had potential to be much more than it was. That the last book was so bad really taints the whole story for me.

I don't recommend it. Don't waste your credit.

Ending missing?

Listened to the first two books and they are pretty good. Good story line, even though I feel there could have been more “meat” to the the relationship with Eveand Caleb. This was also pretty good but then you get to the ending and there is no epilogue and it just stops all of a sudden.

Missing the ending

This is a trilogy that ended without an ending. There should of been a 4th book to wrap everything up. What could have been a good series was disappointing!!! Would not recommend!!!
