Inspiring memoir. Self love and the human experience.

I just finished it on audible. Last night she sang me the final song. This audiobook is incredible. Melissa's words in her voice. I heard the laughter and the lows. She sang me so many acoustic versions of her songs and I now understand their meaning. She has lived so much life and admits there is so much more that was not included in this book. Her plant medicine journeys opened her mind and so began her spiritual awakening where she remembers who she is. And who we ALL are. Where love and peace reside. That's all everyone wants. What a beautiful gift from such a loving Universe. Thanks for sharing it Missy!

Helped My Healing Journey

This book, as read by Melissa gave me such insight and tools for healing. I too have left a long-term one-sided relationship that made me small and ignored my own needs. Her reading of her story has had a profound effect on my life and will continue to do so. I can't thank her enough for telling her story, in her words, it has meant so much to my life.

It’s beautiful

Beautifully told and evoked many tears. The music was moving and meaningful. I love detail in books, so the one thing I missed was detail about the experiences she had, but maybe that was in the other book or she didn’t want to reveal too much. It was still a profound and beautiful piece of art.

Too much singing

I have been a BIG Melissa fan for 30+ years. I read her first book and was sucked in and impressed at her vulnerability & story. I was actually sad when it ended. So, when I heard Melissa was coming out with a second book, I decided to buy the audio version the day it came out. A lot of the story is spoken about in her first book and the stuff that wasn’t spoken about, was, of course, very interesting. However, there was a little bit too much singing in this book for me. While I understand, incorporating the meanings of her songs in the book, i think singing as many songs as she did, really made it feel like a music download, not a book. Perhaps thats what she was aiming for and i commend her for speaking about her sons struggles etc, but i just thought it was too much singing….(and i love her music).

Loved it.

Deep, beautiful, honest. Loved my girl. Strong, inspirational, brutal at times. Lots I didn’t know. Brought back my young days, first love, innocence. Her singing was a major bonus. Listened while beach walking. The perfect combo!

Soulful and beautiful story

What an inspiring and soulful story of her life. A definite read! I may just have to listen to it again!
