The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene is a self-help book offering advice on how to gain and maintain power, using lessons drawn from parables and the experiences of historical figures.

Power depends on the relationships between a person and those he or she seeks to control. Powerful people must cultivate their appearances to earn respect and eliminate doubt. They must practice selective honesty, misdirection, and an excess of secrecy to gain a tactical advantage. Timing is central to maintaining power, as is the ability to adapt. The array of strategies available when seeking power include mirroring the opponent's actions and controlling the opponent's options for action. The powerful must also cultivate a relationship with audiences by creating spectacles and feeding their need to believe in the impossible.

ehhh

I was looking for something like a quick recap of the 48 laws and a single analogy to the the law. not bad, but disappointed.

a fast read high light reel to the 48

who this was a speedy introduction or summary to the 48 Laws. Unclear about all 48 and was not really done thematically but gives pretty good oversight.

Terrible, complete waste of a credit.

This book is all about overpowering people. I wish I had my money back. I stopped listening after 10 minutes.

Not for creating Good Leaders

Some suggestions will make you raise your eyebrows. It's perfect only if you want to develop duplicitous and dubious leaders. Comparable to Saul Alinsky's philosophy.

Very sexist,bias and inaccurate summary

First of all, the actual book tells its readers to look down on dying for a cause, not to die for a cause. The book makes many references to women good and bad who achieved their goals. Actually read the book, instead of skimming the pages

don't waste your time.

Listening to this overview does zero justice to the book. Also, the narrator does shameless plugs to their website to try and get you to buy more of their audio files independent of Audible.com It's classless and tasteless in my opinion. Don't waste your time or money with this garbage.
