Publisher's Summary

Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn't mean she's opposed to casual dating - just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister's case, she's as determined to win as ever - even if that means teaming up with Ford....

Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He's willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for....

Fun snarky sexy

The sex was hot, really hot. This narrator did a great job there was a scene with a doctor that was tense and I even started to cry I really got into it

very nice story

though I enjoyed this ,towards the chapters in the 20s some of the language was quite explicit .thought that was important for some people to know.

Ohhhh how I loved this book!!!

To start with I felt like the story touched up on points so close to me that it was scary. I could identify with this book more than ever before as I am sure most other readers will as well. The terminology, street names, the subway blue line and finally her anxiety attacks whilst not wanting to draw any attention to herself since she was well known in her field. So perhaps at this point I'm biased but I felt the characters were well developed and the love progression seemed quite reasonable. Can't go wrong with this book.

BAD Narrater

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, to read not audible

What didn’t you like about Karen White’s performance?

Her voice was annoying as a female & terrible as male.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A story teller.

The Narrator Killed this Story for me

What did you love best about Suddenly One Summer?

I liked that the characters acted like real people.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Suddenly One Summer?

When Ford was genuinely concerned with Victoria's fainting on the train.

What didn’t you like about Karen White’s performance?

I truly liked the story but the narrator, killed the story because she didn't sound like a 30 something lady. She did well with the other characters in the book but when she did the main character, Victoria, I could only imagine a 50 something lady and I could not shake that image throughout the book.

Amusing story. Painful narrator. Maybe better to read and avoid audible

Total lightweight story with the expected happy ending. Will keep you smiling. Not thinking. Narrators voice is totally annoying - sounds like an old woman (main characters at late 30s/40s) and her voice warbles. Completely distracting.

Awful Narration

The story may have been okay but Karen White should not be narrating. Worst voice ever whining couldn't tell who the different characters I wouldn't want to listen to my voice for 10 hours either but I'm not getting paid to narrate. Only was able to get through it because I didn't want to waste the $16. but maybe I made the wrong decision 😟

as always Julie James & Jaren White are Excellent. LOVE the story. Smart, sarcastic, sassy female leads are my favorite. The narration brings it all to life. Enjoyed every minute.

Just awful

This book sucked my soul directly out my being leaving me empty. If possible, the narrator made it worse with her smarmy, sexist interpretation of the male protagonist. The author embarrassed herself publishing the garbage. Boo.

Horrible narration!

Loved the story. Hated the narrator. Worst one ever. Very choppy speech pattern. Made it painful to listen but I loved the story line. Will avoid books with this narrator in the future.
