Publisher's Summary

At the edge of chaos, one geek stands tall.

Five years ago, dateless dork Bill Ryder somehow saved the world, banishing magic and monsters to the shadows. He thought it was over, that he was finished with that life. Too bad for him, shit’s about to get surreal again.

Now the impossible has happened. His goddaughter is conjuring fireballs from thin air and two vampires have shown up at his doorstep looking to kick his ass.

A crazed group of ex-wizards are hell-bent on forcing the door between worlds open, intent on letting the nightmares back in, and only Bill and his friends stand in their way.

Join him in this hilarious tale of a world teetering on the brink of anarchy and the unlikely hero who’s not afraid to look the madness in the eye and flip it both fingers.

love Bill's world

There's definitely not a boring moment. I love the narration. Ed's voice sounds different in this one. Love the new characters and Tom's new predicament.

Awesome!

A big fan of this series. I was thrilled to find out that Bill was coming back and that Christopher John Fetherolf would once again bring Bill and his friends to life! Rick Gualtieri delivers an excellent adventure returning us to Bill's world!!

Exposition... exposition... exposition!

This ENTIRE book is nothing but setup from the beginning to end. Sure there's some action in it but this is ALL about the story and explanation.

Then again, it HAS to be.

Bill was OVER, the world was saved. The dead were dead and everyone else was human again. Then Gualtieri needed beer money and knew we'd jump right back into Bill and his world. Recapturing the chemistry of the original means some things needed to be restored and some things needed to get better and that required... about 10 hours of explanation. So, you have "Strange Days."

I'm really looking forward to the plot moving forward from here and see how my favorite characters come to terms with the things that have been done to and for them.

You can be sure that I'll save AT LEAST one more Audible Credit for the next one.

Did not disappoint!

When the Tome of Bill series ended, I was disappointed. Not in the series but that I wanted more like an addict looking for his next fix. When Strange Days released, i wasn’t sure how the story was going to be continued knowing how the previous setup ended. I was not disappointed, keep up the good work Rick!

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy these characters and their antics. A great listen, and I'm excited to find out where the story goes from here.

Bill 2.0 older and...human-er???

I didn't realize how much I'd missed Bill & Co,. until they were back. This was a fun dive back into their world. Loved the contrast between the slightly more mature Bill (everybody's gotta grow up sometime) and characters who are let's just say, unable to mature.
Some really fun new characters are introduced (Glen is my bubbly new favorite and a fiery 5 year old Tina is awesome), while we get to know some characters even better.

Can't wait for the next book in the series...seriously though, that cliffhanger...brutal for readers (How long must we wait?!)

However... if you haven't read the Tome of Bill series, you must read that first or this book will mean nothing to you.
